Cannonwrights are specialized weapon vendors found in three regions of Pywel that sell cannons and cannonball ammunition. Unlike general equipment shops, cannonwrights carry a focused three-item inventory built around a shared pair of common firearms plus one region-exclusive premium cannon. Each cannonwright is the only source in its region for that exclusive weapon, making them essential stops for players who use ranged cannon builds.
All three cannonwrights stock the same base inventory: Small Cannonball and Steel Blaster. Beyond those two shared items, each shop offers a single higher-tier cannon unique to its region. The three exclusive cannons are the Alpha Barrel Cannon (Delesyia), the Reinforced Steel Blaster (Demeniss), and the Bismuth Cannon (House Azerian in Lyle). For a full breakdown of every cannon-type weapon in the game, see the Cannons overview article.
Cannonwrights become accessible as Macduff liberates new settlements and the main story advances through each region. Players who focus on Oongka's cannon playstyle will want to visit all three cannonwrights across the course of the game to compare and upgrade their primary ranged weapon. For a directory of all vendor types, see the Vendor Directory.
The following two items appear in every cannonwright's stock, regardless of region. They are restocked at each in-game midnight like all consumable vendor items.
Item | Stack Size | Use |
|---|---|---|
15 | Standard cannon ammunition. The most widely available cannonball type. Used for everyday combat and area-of-effect encounters. | |
324 | Entry-tier hand cannon. Available at all three cannonwright locations, making it the most accessible cannon in the game for new firearm builds. |
The table below lists all three cannonwright locations, their merchants, item counts, and the exclusive premium cannon sold only at that shop.
Cannonwright | Merchant | Region | Items | Exclusive Cannon |
|---|---|---|---|---|

3 | Reinforced Steel Blaster (648) | |||

The Delesyia Cannonwright is operated by merchant Forrex and is located in the Delesyia region. The shop carries three items: Small Cannonball (stack of 15), Steel Blaster, and the region-exclusive Alpha Barrel Cannon. The Alpha Barrel Cannon is priced at 1,068 silver and represents one of the two highest-priced exclusive cannons sold at any cannonwright.
The Alpha Barrel Cannon is a step up from the base Steel Blaster and caters to players who have progressed through the Delesyia chapter and are looking to upgrade their cannon slot. Delesyia is one of the game's larger regional hubs, so players passing through for equipment shop runs or saddlery visits should stop at Forrex's counter to evaluate whether the Alpha Barrel Cannon is worth purchasing at their current progression stage.

Kairon runs the Demeniss Cannonwright in the Demeniss region. The three-item inventory follows the same structure as the other cannonwrights: Small Cannonball (15), Steel Blaster, and the exclusive Reinforced Steel Blaster. At a price of 648 silver, the Reinforced Steel Blaster is the most affordable of the three exclusive cannons, sitting between the entry-level Steel Blaster (324) and the premium Alpha Barrel Cannon and Bismuth Cannon (both 1,068).
The Reinforced Steel Blaster is a natural mid-tier upgrade for players who have outgrown the base Steel Blaster but are not yet ready to invest in a 1,068-silver premium cannon. Players in Demeniss who are progressing through that chapter's story content should consider purchasing from Kairon before moving into the region's more demanding combat encounters. The Demeniss region also has its own Demeniss Saddlery, making Kairon's shop a convenient combined stop when restocking mount consumables alongside weapon upgrades.

The House Azerian Cannonwright is operated by Lyle and is tied to the House Azerian faction. The shop stocks Small Cannonball (15), Steel Blaster, and the exclusive Bismuth Cannon at 1,068 silver. Alongside the Alpha Barrel Cannon from Delesyia, the Bismuth Cannon shares the title of the most expensive purchasable cannon in the cannonwright network.
The Bismuth Cannon is crafted from bismuth ore and is one of the strongest hand cannons available for purchase rather than crafting. Players who prefer buying over crafting, or who have not yet unlocked the relevant crafting manual at a Blacksmith, will find Lyle's shop to be the most direct route to obtaining a Bismuth Cannon. House Azerian's affiliation with advanced metallurgy and military production makes this cannonwright a natural fit for high-end firearm sales. Check the Cannons article for the Bismuth Cannon's full stats compared to other hand cannons in the game.

Cannonwrights share the same core vendor mechanics as all other shops in Crimson Desert. Understanding the rules helps with planning purchases and restocking runs.
Midnight restock. The Small Cannonball stack refreshes every in-game midnight. If you buy out the 15-unit stack, wait or sleep at a fire until midnight to replenish before the next engagement.
Permanent weapon stock. Unlike consumable ammunition, the cannons themselves (Steel Blaster, exclusive premiums) do not deplete and can be purchased at any time as long as you have the silver.
Story-gated access. Cannonwrights in faction-held or contested regions open only after liberating the area or progressing to the relevant story chapter. Expect the House Azerian Cannonwright to become available later in the game as House Azerian territory is reached.
Buyback tab. Items sold to a cannonwright merchant appear in a buyback menu temporarily. The buyback price is higher than your sale price, so avoid accidentally selling your equipped cannon.
Crafting vs. buying. The Bismuth Cannon is available both from Lyle's shop and through crafting (requires Bismuth Ore and the relevant manual read at a Blacksmith). The bought version and the crafted version have identical base stats, so purchasing is valid if you have the silver and want to skip the material gathering.
Buy Small Cannonballs in bulk across all three shops. Each cannonwright stocks 15 Small Cannonballs. If you are heading into a region where cannon use will be heavy, visit all accessible cannonwrights beforehand to maximize your ammunition count.
Upgrade progressively. The Steel Blaster (324) is available immediately and works as your starting cannon. The Reinforced Steel Blaster (648) from Kairon in Demeniss is a natural midgame upgrade. The Alpha Barrel Cannon and Bismuth Cannon (both 1,068) are endgame-tier purchases for established cannon builds.
Choose between Alpha Barrel Cannon and Bismuth Cannon based on playstyle. Both are priced at 1,068 silver. Check the Cannons article for their individual attack stats and Abyss Core slot counts to determine which is better suited to your current Oongka or cannon-user build.
Pair cannon purchases with Blacksmith visits. After buying a new cannon, visit a Blacksmith immediately to begin the refinement process. Refining a new cannon from level 0 to level 5 gives a significant attack boost that is especially noticeable when upgrading from the Steel Blaster to one of the premium options.
Combine regional shopping runs. Delesyia has both a cannonwright (Forrex) and a saddlery (Randelle), and Demeniss similarly has a cannonwright (Kairon) alongside other vendors. Plan your shopping routes to hit multiple vendor types in the same hub visit.
