Role and Location
The Bursada Ruins Research Team is an Other-type faction based around the rainforest ruins in the northern Crimson Desert. They work out of two documented territories: Bursada Castle Ruins, set along the Red River, and Bursada Temple Ruins, a forgotten temple of unknown origin buried deeper in the jungle. The team's mission is to catalog the primitive yet exotic artifacts left behind by the civilization that once lived there.
Because the artifacts fetch high prices among the upper class, the rumor mill has drawn more attention than the researchers can manage. Several bandit groups operating in the desert, including the Sandfang Marauders and the Goldenscale Bandits, watch the ruin camps for a chance to plunder supplies and finished relics, which keeps the team dependent on passing adventurers for protection.

Reputation and Rewards
Like every faction in Crimson Desert, this group sits inside the game's five-tier reputation system: War, Hostile, Neutral, Friendly, and Alliance. Most factions begin at Neutral when first encountered, and reputation shifts as the player completes faction quests, contracts, and related world content. Reaching Alliance unlocks three compounding benefits: allied troops that assist in combat inside the faction's territory, exclusive vendors carrying items not sold anywhere else, and restricted resource nodes such as mining deposits, ingredient patches, and hidden dungeons.
Faction System Notes
Crimson Desert tracks approximately 110 factions in total across the continent of Pywel, split across four classification types: Core, Hostile, Religious, and Other. Contribution XP from completing faction quests feeds into standing with the issuing faction and, in several regions, into a shared regional reputation such as Demenissian Contribution or Pailunese Contribution. Progress is tracked on the reputation panel in the player menu, and reaching Alliance with a faction typically unlocks a named reward set that can include armor, weapons, mounts, or cosmetics such as the Pirate King Hat earned through Vellua Fishermen's Guild content.
