A Bounty Notice is a faction-side quest type in Crimson Desert that tasks the player with tracking down a named outlaw, capturing them alive (in most cases), and delivering them to a regional constabulary for a reward of silver and faction contribution. Bounty notices are not handed out by an NPC quest-giver. Instead, they appear as wanted posters on Notice Boardslampposts, and message stakes scattered through cities, smaller settlements, and roadside camps. Reading a poster is what activates the corresponding quest in the player's journal.
Bounty notices first become available in Chapter 2: Golden Greed, when posters begin appearing around the city of Hernand. From that point on, additional notices are added across the rest of the Hernand region and, later, in the Pywel region as the player progresses the main story and unlocks new constabularies. Each notice is a self-contained side activity that can be completed at the player's pace; some can also be tackled in pairs, since two captured outlaws can be transported simultaneously by carrying one and lashing the other to the saddle of a horse.
Bounty Notices sit at the intersection of three larger systems: the broader Bounty System (which formalizes how bounties are issued and collected), the Bounty Hunting activity loop (which covers all bounty-related play, including monster bounties), and the Wanted System (the player-facing crime track that produces wanted posters of Kliff himself if he commits crimes). Bounty Notices specifically refer to the posters that send the player after other criminals, not the ones that put a bounty on the player.
Bounty Notices follow a four-step loop: locate, read, capture, and deliver. The loop is identical for every named target, even though the difficulty, reward, and capture method differ from one bounty to the next.
Step | What Happens |
|---|---|
Locate the poster | Bounty posters appear on Notice Boardslampposts, and stakes in towns and along major roads. They are marked on the minimap with a purple scroll icon, which makes them easy to spot from horseback. |
Read the notice | Approach the poster and hold the inspect button (CTRL on keyboard, LB / L1 on a controller) to read the bounty in detail. Reading is what activates the quest. The notice lists the target's name, last known location, capture conditions (alive or dead), and the constabulary that will pay out the reward. |
Find and subdue the target | Travel to the marked location. Targets often flee on sight, so the usual sequence is to chase the outlaw down, hit them with a Tackle to pin them, deal a few unarmed strikes, then trigger the Tie Up prompt to bind them. For the few targets where the notice permits a kill, you can defeat them in normal combat instead, although the alive-capture reward is usually larger. |
Deliver to the constabulary | Carry the bound outlaw on your back or load them onto a horse and bring them to the constabulary named on the notice (typically the closest one inside the same region). Hand them over at the constabulary desk to collect silver and faction contribution points. |
Two captures can be transported at once: carry the first outlaw on your back and tie the second across the horse's saddle. This is especially useful when farming notices in the same area of Pywel or around Hernand Citywhere multiple bounty targets cluster within a short ride of the local constabulary.
Bounty Notices are tied to specific regional jurisdictions. The notice itself tells you which constabulary to use, and only that constabulary will accept the corresponding outlaw. The two regions that currently issue bounties are Hernand (introduced in Chapter 2) and Pywel (added as the story opens up the dwarven highlands).
Region | Constabulary | Notes |
|---|---|---|
First constabulary the player visits, introduced via the Bounty Notice: Jeffrey tutorial bounty. Posters cluster around lampposts inside Hernand and on roadside boards through the duchy. | ||
Opens later in the story. Many of the dwarven outlaws (Kronk, Talgrim, Throk, Grull, Borzak, Brogar, Snaggle, Ulzok) are turned in here. The longer ride between Pywel notice locations is the main argument for double-loading captures. |
The table below indexes every named Bounty Notice that has a dedicated wiki page. Reward values are taken from the in-game notice text and from cross-referenced community guides; where a specific silver figure has not been confirmed by multiple sources, the table notes only that the notice pays silver plus contribution. Open the linked article for the exact location, capture method, and any combat tips for that target.

Bounty Notice payouts come in three forms: silver, faction contribution, and access to the Bounty Hunter armor and equipment ranges sold at constabularies and Hernand merchants. The silver reward scales with the difficulty and infamy of the target; the contribution reward scales with the region and unlocks faction-shop purchases.
Reward | Source | Use |
|---|---|---|
Paid out at the constabulary on delivery; ranges from 1 silver for the tutorial Jeffrey bounty up to roughly 30 silver for late-game targets such as Haldin | Universal currency for merchants, trainingfast traveland most upgrades | |
Earned alongside silver for every Hernand-region bounty turned in | Spent at the Hernand Contribution Shop inside Hernand Castle to buy reputation-locked gear such as Hernand Ceremonial Guard Armor (21 contribution) | |
Granted on Pywel-region turn-ins | Improves standing with the dwarven authorities and unlocks regional shop access | |
Bounty Hunter gear unlocks | Constabulary and Hernand-region merchants stock the Bounty Hunter armor lines once the player has delivered enough captures | Themed armor sets in cloth, leather, scale, and plate weight classes; see the next section |
Granted as a tool item early in the bounty progression | Used to subdue and bind bounty targets without killing them |
Two repeatable monster-bounty variants share the same payout structure: Bounty on the Bloodied Monster and Bounty on the Mud Monster reward silver and contribution for slaying creature-tier targets rather than capturing humanoid outlaws.
Completing Bounty Notices unlocks the Bounty Hunter equipment lines at constabulary stockists. The sets are organized by armor weight, with cloth at the lightest end for stealth captures and plate at the heaviest end for the more dangerous human and dwarven outlaws. Mixing pieces across weights is supported, and a handful of upgraded variants (Strapped, Horned, Crow) drop from specific high-tier captures rather than from vendors.
Set | Pieces | Role |
|---|---|---|
Bounty Hunter Cloth | Lightweight scout kit; best for chase-and-tackle bounties where speed matters more than damage absorption | |
Mid-weight all-rounder; the standard Hernand bounty kit. The reinforced | ||
Bounty Hunter Scale | Transitional helm between leather and plate; pairs well with leather body and plate gauntlets | |
Bounty Hunter Plate | Heavy frontline kit for engaging armed targets and bandit camps surrounding higher-tier outlaws like Blix and Haldin | |
Variant pieces | Strapped Bounty Hunter's Leather BootsHorned Bounty Hunter's Plate HelmCrow Bounty Plate Helm | Special variants tied to specific bounty completions or constabulary milestones; mostly cosmetic with minor stat bumps |
Several quests and systems sit alongside the Bounty Notice catalogue and are worth understanding together.

Read the notice carefully. Some targets only appear at certain times of day (Billy after 6 PM, Bianca around 4 PM) or in weather-restricted spots. Reading the poster gives you the window; ignoring it can mean a long ride to an empty camp.
Default to capturing alive. The Bounty Notice: Warren guide explicitly warns that killing the target halves or voids the reward. Unless the notice authorizes a kill, lead with Tackle and Tie Up rather than a fatal combo.
Stack two captures per round trip. Once you have an outlaw bound, you can still tackle and tie a second one and load them onto your horse. This roughly doubles silver per minute when bounties cluster, particularly in Pywel.
Clear escorts first. Many bounties (Blix at Unicorn Cliff, Alessio at Trembling Gorge) sit inside small bandit camps. Wipe the surrounding outlaws before grappling the target so the tie-up animation does not get interrupted.
Avoid committing crimes en route. Triggering the Wanted System while carrying a bound outlaw forces you to either pay a fine or do jail time before turning the bounty in, which wastes the trip.
Bank contribution before unlocking faction gear. Hold onto contribution points until you can afford a complete set rather than spending piecemeal at the Hernand Contribution Shopthe cosmetics and stat bonuses on full sets stack better than partial pieces.
Use the bounty boards as fast-travel anchors. Constabularies double as save points and shop hubs, and the road network around Hernand and Pywel is built around these stops, so a bounty run is also an efficient way to discover new merchants and stables.
Bounty Notice items appear in the player inventory under the Items category in their own right, which is why most individual notice articles on this wiki sit in the Items category rather than Quests. This overview is filed under Quests because the activity itself is a quest type.
The dwarven outlaws (Kronk, Talgrim, Throk, Grull, Borzak, Brogar, Snaggle, Ulzok) reflect the larger dwarves presence in Pywel and tend to be tougher in melee than human Hernand targets. Bringing the heavier Bounty Hunter's Plate Armor before working through the Pywel list is recommended.
The Bounty Notice - Skevald, the Carrion King target is the only entry currently in the catalogue that uses a full epithet rather than a single given name, and is associated with one of the larger bandit warbands in Hernand.
The Above the Law challenge track rewards completing the bounty hunting loop in specific ways (no kills, fastest delivery, full contribution caps), and overlaps heavily with the Bounty Notices catalogue. Players hunting trophies should plan their bounty order around those modifiers.
