Bass is a fish species in Starsand Island, found exclusively in the Coral Sea zone. The Coral Sea is one of three deep-sea fishing areas accessible by boarding the Parrot Ship or renting a yacht (150 Coins per hour) from Starsand Port. Bass has a notably narrow catch window, appearing only during early morning and evening hours. Despite being a deep-sea fish, it is one of the more affordable catches in the Coral Sea, making it a solid introductory species for players first exploring the zone.

Bass appears in all seasons and in any weather, but its time window is very tight. You only have two 2-hour windows per day (06:00 to 08:00 and 18:00 to 20:00) to hook one. Plan your yacht trip to arrive at the Coral Sea just before one of these windows opens.
To reach the Coral Sea, head to Starsand Port and board the Parrot Ship or rent a yacht. The Coral Sea requires unlocking through the Angler profession progression. Once there, equip Meat Bait (crafted from any fish at the Chopper I station) and chum the water. Bass will appear as shadows during its active hours. Use at least a Noble Rod or better for reliable hookups in deep-sea waters.
Like all fish in Starsand Island, Bass can be processed into Fish Fillet at the Separator. Fish Fillet is a base ingredient in 10 different recipes, including:

Processing Bass (or any fish) into Fish Fillet and then cooking it into dishes significantly increases its value compared to selling the raw fish.
Bass can be placed in a Fish Pond for breeding and display. Add fish food and maintain adequate oxygen levels. After 1 to 2 in-game days, check for eggs in the pond. Stone Ponds tend to produce eggs more reliably than Small Ponds.
The 06:00 to 08:00 and 18:00 to 20:00 windows are short. Arrive at the Coral Sea before 06:00 or 18:00 so you do not waste time traveling.
Selling Bass at the Merchant Ship doubles your profit to 206 Coins per fish (200% sell value).
Since Bass requires Meat Bait, bring extra fish to convert at the Chopper if you run out while on the boat.
