Qualified the unresolved relationship between Seekers and the Volatile Anomaly
Seekers is the name Remedy's pre-release material, starting with its March 4, 2026 combat deep dive and including the June 2026 hands-on build, gave to one of Dylan Faden's combat abilities: a volatile telekinetic entity that attacks enemies of its own accord once Dylan deploys it. In the released game, out since September 24, 2026, guides list a similarly described choice after the first Resonant, The Artist: the Volatile Anomaly, which Remedy describes as a turret-like ally that can be thrown and detonated. Its relationship to Seekers remains unconfirmed. This page records the pre-release name and what was shown under it; the released-game roster is on the Abilities page.
Like other Resonant combat abilities, the ability is paid for out of Dylan's Combat Ability resource, Power, which is replenished by landing melee hits with the Aberrant.

Autonomous attacker: deployed Seekers move on their own and continue engaging enemies in range without further input, which is the main way the ability fits into a forward-pressure combat loop.
Thrown bomb: Dylan can also launch a Seeker directly at a target as a heavy single-hit option for opening a fight or punishing a stagger window. The trade-off is the same as for any heavy strike: the ability cost has to be paid up front.
In the June 2026 build, Seekers was one of three choices offered after the first Resonant fight, alongside Barrage and Shield. The released game offers Barrage, the Volatile Anomaly and Shield at the same point, and the player keeps one of them on a first playthrough; the pick can be changed later at the Mural in The Gap by spending a Reset Item. An autonomous summon suits builds that want damage on the field while Dylan works elsewhere; a heavier melee-pressure build that spends its meter on stuns and executions might skip it.
The released game's Mold turret is a different ability. Growth, one of the two choices after defeating The Collective beneath The Park, summons a Mold turret that fires Infected projectiles (see The Mold). It is not the ability pre-release material called Seekers.
The name Seekers first appeared in Remedy's March 4, 2026 combat deep dive, which described "a volatile telekinetic entity that attacks enemies and can be thrown and detonated", and the June 2026 hands-on build used it for an auto-firing turret that can also be thrown as an explosive. On September 15, 2026 Remedy's own text named a combat ability called the Volatile Anomaly, described as a turret-like ally that can be thrown and detonated, and guides to the released game list the Volatile Anomaly, an explosive ally, as one of the three choices after the Artist. These dated accounts describe similar functions and choices after the first Resonant, but they do not establish that Seekers was renamed or that the two names refer to the same ability. The relationship remains unconfirmed. A hands-on with the finished game describes the ally as formed from ambient junk in the environment. The Mold ally that fired on enemies in the gamescom demo is the ability the released game calls Growth.
The following were not covered by first-party material before release and have not yet been checked against the released game: the exact damage values, cooldown and range of the Volatile Anomaly, how many can be deployed at once, and which talent-tree modifiers amplify it. This page will be updated as the released game is documented.
