Konami has published character material for four figures in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, and the story adds one more who drives the opening without being named. Bosses have their own page, since most of them are story characters as well as fights.

Rose Belmont
The protagonist and an original character created for this game. Konami describes her as a new protagonist who bears Dracula's curse in her right arm, and the mark is visible on her forearm as a red line running from her elbow to her hand. She fights with weapons, a whip and the tarot deck her mother left her, and she carries guilt over her mother's death. Her full profile, arsenal and dialogue are on her own page.
Trevor Belmont
The hero who defeated Dracula twenty-three years before the game opens, and the holder of the Vampire Killer, the family's legendary holy whip. He travels down the River Seine with Rose in answer to a call for help from Paris, and the two are separated on the docks.
He is sceptical of the man who summoned them. On the Bishop he says: "Titles, land, gold. This bishop mistakes his desires for our own." He steps back from the hunt early because Rose is already an experienced hunter, and the story makes a point of the fact that the family line has not ended with him.
The Bishop's letter, quoted in the opening, addresses him as "Trevor Belmont, last of House Belmont." A later line answers it: "You're not the last Belmont anymore."
Sypha Belnades
Rose's mother, who fought Dracula alongside Trevor. She fell victim to Dracula's curse and died soon after Rose was born, so she does not appear in the present of the story. Her legacy is concrete rather than sentimental: the tarot deck Rose carries was hers, and it is the container for every Arcana Rose collects. The curse itself is framed as passing from mother to daughter.
The Sypha Style Costume is one of the three in-game items in the Midnight Edition.
Count Dracula
The immortal vampire king and lord of the castle that gives the series its name. Konami's material sets out his recent history: defeated by Trevor, temporarily resurrected three years later, and revealed in the process to have an indestructible soul. Twenty years after that, darkness began stirring again in Paris, which is where this game starts.
He is on the verge of returning as the game opens, and his castle is not present on the map at the start. Konami's own commentary asks what will become of Paris when the castle finally emerges, so its arrival is a story event rather than a fixed location. Rose's line from the final trailer is aimed at him: "Dracula's castle is just ahead. I have come here to destroy you. Just like my father, mother, and their allies before me."
The Bishop
The Bishop is a role rather than a name; Konami has not published one. His letter is the inciting incident, and it is read out in the opening: "In the name of his most royal majesty, by the grace of God, the King of France..." and later, "So now we appeal to you, Trevor Belmont, last of House Belmont." The same letter reports that the city watch has vanished and that those who remain are hiding in their homes.
Trevor goes looking for the clergy while Rose takes the city, and his remark about titles, land and gold suggests the Bishop is working an agenda of his own. Nothing further about him has been confirmed.
Not in This Game
Alucard exists here as a costume for Rose and nothing else. Konami has said there is no explicit continuity between the game and the animated adaptation, so that show's versions of these characters are not a guide to this one. No voice cast has been published, and no performer is credited on this wiki until one is.
