The continent of Haranya is the eastern landmass of Erenor, home to the Haranyan Alliance: the Harani, Firran, and Warborn. The continent's name derives from "Harihara," the territory founded by the Sallium family after their defeat in the Eclipse War on Nuia.
Geography
Haranya features diverse terrain from grassy plains to arid wilds. Key regions include:
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Mahadevi | A central region shared by Firran and Harani starting areas |
Falcorth Plains | The Firran homeland, open grasslands suited to their nomadic lifestyle |
Arcum Iris | Harani territory near Austera, the regional capital |
Sunbite Wilds | The Warborn starting area, a harsh landscape fitting for a race seeking penance |
Political history
Haranya's political development followed a different path than Nuia's. The Harani arrived as refugees and initially clashed with the indigenous Firran. Rather than continuing to fight, the Harani shifted strategy and settled uninhabited areas. Over time, the entire continent unified under the Perinoor Empire. After the empire collapsed and a 20-year civil war fragmented the kingdom into four states, Queen Mei reunified the nation. Her decision to step down and marry a Firran cemented the multi-racial alliance.
Role in ArcheAge Chronicles
Like Nuia, Haranya is a major power in the Age of Pioneers. The eastern continent has its own ambitions for Auroria and its own perspective on the joint venture to build a unified city there. The Haranyan Alliance's pragmatic culture, forged through civil war and inter-racial negotiation, gives it a different diplomatic approach than the more tradition-bound Nuian Alliance.
