Add practical matching-form encounters, evolution branches and combat planning from reviewed body facts while preserving primary data.
Rookey is No. 063 in the Aniimo index, a Dark creature that fights in the BREAK role. Despite its imposing size, it is timid and avoids conflict. It finds its courage when friends need protection.

Wild Aniimo are taken with Aniipods, and once caught this one can be raised, sent into battle, kept at The Homeland, or traded to another player. It belongs to the Helmut line, which runs to 3 entries in total, and 2 alternate Forms have been published for it.

These are base figures and balance changes can move them.

Besides its Basic Form, Rookey has 2 published Forms. 1 of them carries a different elemental pairing from the Basic Form, so the Form a Pathfinder catches decides what the creature is weak and strong against.

Rookey is listed in 1 habitat. Which creatures actually appear also depends on weather, time of day, and local phenomena, so a listed habitat is where to look rather than a guarantee.

Every Aniimo carries a passive Trait that is always active while it fights alongside a Pathfinder.
Trait | Effect |
|---|---|
Guardbreak Resonance | Increases BREAK by 0. |
Mobility abilities are named actions used while Twined, separate from combat skills and graded traversal capabilities.
Ability | Effect |

Detection | Gives you a special detective vision that allows you to see metal objects and cloaked Aniimo nearby. |
The table lists available combat moves, including form or capture unlocks, and the separate innate moves. Choose two compatible combat skills for the build. Power is the published damage figure and Cost is the resource required.
Skill | Type | Power | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Guardbreak Slam | Combat | 45 | 15 | Jumps up and smashes down on the target to deal damage. Up to three consecutive smashes are allowed, and the third smash will stun the target for 1s. |
Bouncy Sling | Combat | 55 | 20 | Charges up in place and launches itself forward, dealing damage to the target hit and increasing its BREAK damage taken by 15% for 15s. If other targets are nearby after the hit, it bounces to them up to 10 times. It can also bounce to allies. |
Ballistic Guard | Combat | 52 | 20 | Turns into a ball and jumps high into the air, damaging targets at the landing point. Enters [Ballistic Guard], increasing own damage reduction by 20% and greatly enhancing anti-interruption. When attacked, releases a shock wave around self that deals damage equal to 10 Might. Interval: No less than 0.2s. |
Guardbreak Smash | Combat | 45 | 15 | Jumps up and smashes down on the target to deal damage. Up to three consecutive smashes are allowed, and the third smash will stun the target for 1s. |
ATK | Innate | 6 | 0 | (BREAK) Wields the power of darkness to attack targets at close range. |
Heavy Slam | Innate | 196 | 0 | Makes its hands grow huge and smashes the ground, dealing damage to all targets nearby. |
Form | Route |
|---|---|
Basic | Search south of First Sight Sanctum for Rookey with three Helmuts. Approach from the cliff above for a rear capture attempt. Alpha Rookey and a regional Wild Surge are other routes. |
Snowfield | Search Russet Highlands during snowy weather; the form hides in snowballs. |
Mountain Woods | Complete Secret of the Golden Helmet west of First Sight Sanctum using Cloak, then search south of the forest. |
A rear approach is a capture tactic, not a guaranteed result. For the Alpha encounter, follow the current Catching and Aniipods rules for the first-clear Ultra opportunity; it does not establish a guarantee for every later fight.
Starting form | Result | Level | Materials | Additional requirements |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Basic Helmut | Basic Rookey | 45 | 3 Night Stones | Finish an opponent with that Helmut's defensive counter and learn Unwavering Rampart. |
Snowfield Helmut | Snowfield Rookey | 45 | 3 Night Stones | Finish an opponent with that Helmut's defensive counter and learn Unwavering Rampart. Evolve in a snowy area. |
Mountain Woods Helmut | Mountain Woods Rookey | 45 | 3 Night Stones | Finish an opponent with that Helmut's defensive counter and learn Unwavering Rampart. |
Let the matching Helmut's Defense Mode retaliation finish an opponent. Other party members may first weaken an aggressive wild target, then switch to Helmut for the final shockwave. Unwavering Rampart unlocks at Trailblazer I through the level-55 promotion; the Helmut being evolved needs level 45. For Snowfield Rookey, use Snowfield Helmut and evolve in a snowy area.

Rookey fills the BREAK role in each row. Keep an EP recovery teammate alongside the damage and support choices. Lunara examples pair Turbo with Somniwing; the Rainstorm Stellarys example instead uses Fragrancier and Erlath.
Open with Bouncy Sling to close distance and increase the target's BREAK damage taken. Use Heavy Slam when an opening is available.
Cast Guardbreak Slam, then fit a basic attack combo before the next cast. The sequence allows three total casts; its final stun does not affect Alpha opponents.
Once the target breaks, switch through support effects before the damage dealer begins its main sequence.
Recover EP and prepare another Rookey turn as the next BREAK gauge becomes available.
Bouncy Sling increases BREAK damage taken by 15% for 15 seconds and can ricochet up to ten times, including to allies. The contract adds a 2.5-meter impact radius. Consider that area benefit alongside the target positions and the encounter.
Form | Native combat choices | Capture unlock | Homeland work |
|---|---|---|---|
Basic | Bouncy Sling; Guardbreak Slam; Ballistic Guard | Guardbreak Smash from Snowfield Helmut or Snowfield Rookey. | Hauling 3; Dark 3 |
Snowfield | Bouncy Sling; Guardbreak Smash; Guardbreak Slam; Ballistic Guard | Guardbreak Smash is already native. | Hauling 3; Ice 2; Dark 3 |
Mountain Woods | Bouncy Sling; Guardbreak Slam; Ballistic Guard | Guardbreak Smash from Snowfield Helmut or Snowfield Rookey. | Hauling 3; Dark 3 |
Choose two compatible combat skills. Heavy Slam and the physical, close-range Dark attack remain separate innate moves. Detection finds nearby metal objects and cloaked Aniimo. Hauling and Dark work cover carrying, drying and harvesting tasks, while the Snowfield form adds cooling.
