Status Conditions in Alabaster Dawn are temporary effects applied to Juno or to enemies, modifying damage taken, damage dealt, or resistance behavior. The v0.1.0 Early Access build ships with a small but functionally important set of conditions, several of which are tied directly to specific Divine Arts and Combat System mechanics.

Condition | Affects | Effect | Source | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Brittle | Enemy | Removes all hit-type resistances; the enemy takes full damage from Slash, Pierce, and Blunt regardless of normal resistance. | Leaf Blades Divine Art (Physis Ranged Burst). | Few seconds; expires on a timer. Cannot be reapplied while active. |
Drained Aether | Possibly target | Effect not yet documented in the v0.1.0 build. Appears in the internal condition list and is likely a placeholder pending further patch content. | Source TBD in shipped UI. | Unknown. |
Stagger | Enemy | Built up through repeated weapon hits, parries, and Divine Art Bursts. When the stagger meter fills, the enemy enters a vulnerable break state for a finisher window. | Combat System stagger meter. | Resolves on finisher input or after a fixed break duration. |
Conditions are mostly tied to specific Divine Arts rather than to weapons themselves. Brittle ships as the marquee example: it is exclusively applied by the Leaf Blades Burst, which makes that art a build-defining option for boss encounters. Future patches are expected to introduce Aether-Aspect arts that apply additional conditions; the launch build does not yet ship those.
Stagger is the most common condition the player will see and use. Every weapon strike, every successful parry, and every Burst deposits stagger into an enemy meter visible above the enemy. When the meter fills the enemy enters a brief Broken state in which any attack scores a finisher animation with massive damage; some Nuemera variants have unique finishers that ignite environmental hazards or chain to nearby allies. Bramble Quake's wide AOE and Leaf Blades' Brittle pair well with stagger management: Brittle removes the resistance question entirely, and Bramble Quake's stagger contribution lands across a fan-shaped area.
Hit-type resistances and Aspect resistances are not status conditions per se but are the most relevant interaction layer for condition planning. The Stats resistance line (Aether Ward, etc.) reduces incoming Aether damage; condition-flavored Aspect attacks ignore base resistances only when paired with Brittle.
Radical Fish has signaled that more Status Conditions will arrive with future EA patches alongside the additional Aspects (Cryo, Ignis) and weapons. The placeholder Drained Aether entry visible in the launch build suggests at least one Aether-themed condition is in flight; full documentation will land when the corresponding Divine Art ships.
If a boss is shrugging off your sword hits, Leaf Blades into a finisher is the single best response in the launch build.
Stagger pressure compounds: switch weapon hit types mid-combo to keep the meter rising even against high-resistance enemies. The Hammer is especially useful against shelled Nuemera like the Arma Sphera.
