Snowfield of Sorrow is a Sanctuary raid in AION 2 and the last of the Chapter 1. Lands of Sand and Snow dungeons named in June 2026 to open. NCsoft announced the English name in June 2026, and the raid opened on the Korean and Taiwanese service on September 9, 2026. The Korean name is 비탄의 설원.
Its story is told on the Deltras page: a fallen hero of Elysium, now a thought-form trapped in a mental space, whom both factions have reasons to stop, working with his daughter Elpistera.
Global service: Snowfield of Sorrow is not in the global client's game data as of its September 18, 2026 snapshot, and NCsoft has not announced it for the global service as of October 7, 2026. Everything on this page describes the Korean and Taiwanese service.

It is a ten-player raid. On September 16, 2026 the health of both bosses on Easy was lowered by 10%.

The whole raid runs on a temperature gauge: cold attacks lower it, a frozen player cannot act, and braziers or a warm party member restore it. A rope picked up before the final boss lets players pull frozen or stranded allies to safety. On the way to Deltras the raid has to find his swords to break an ice barrier.
The raid introduced the Seal equipment slot. Seals are crafted, or converted from the Gear Change Voucher that drops here together with Kina; Deltras's Seal is the raid's own. Hard also drops the Liberated White Night weapons and guards.
NCsoft's live stream of September 8, 2026 said Deltras's Seal (Unique) can drop from Easy upward, that a lower-grade Seal can be crafted, that a Unique Seal can be upgraded through Transfer Crafting, and that a Seal's breakthrough option raises weapon damage amplification. The same stream described the Liberated White Night series from Hard as the top tier of weapons and guards at the time.
The same update added a Sanctuary Hall of Fame that records the first, second and third kill of the final boss across all servers, on Hard only. It stores character name, server, legion, class, the highest combat power and item level reached during the run, force position, date and clear time, ignores characters with no contribution and keeps the record if names change later. A commendation system for Expedition, Transcendence, Ordeal and Sanctuary clears arrived at the same time.
