Pets are a collection layer with a progression track attached, which is the part most new players miss. A pet's understanding level feeds the frontal stat family added with Chapter 1, so the collection is not purely cosmetic even though the shop side of it is.

Element | Detail |
|---|---|
Roster | The global client data holds 208 pets in five genera, listed with their sources on Pet List; the Korean and Taiwanese service has more shop and event pets. NCsoft's global storefront advertises the collection alongside outfits and wings. |
Levelling | Collecting more souls of a pet you own raises its understanding level, up to level 5; souls come from the monsters a pet is tamed from and from growth pet boxes, which the Odylium Repository daily dungeon awards by score |
Understanding | Each pet's understanding level feeds the frontal stats added with Chapter 1, alongside Soul Inscription and manastones and spiritstones |
Sharing | Pets have been shared across the characters on a server since January 2026 |
Riding in dungeons | Allowed since the Chapter 1 update on July 1, 2026, except during boss fights and in spaces built around special play |
Species-level progression shared by every character on the server since January 7, 2026; its experience requirements were cut to 70% on April 8, 2026 | |
Obtaining | Pet souls drop from monsters, and everyone with contribution on a boss kill receives them (November 22, 2025). Growth pet boxes come from the Odylium Repository daily dungeon, entered with an Unknown Fissure Challenge Ticket. Other pets come from event shops, the shop and Sanctuary first clears such as the Red Dragon. |
Special pets | Shared across the server since July 1, 2026; duplicates became pet exchange tickets |

NCsoft's official Korean guidebook (pet page updated August 13, 2026) describes pets as mounts: riding one raises movement speed, and on the ground the C key mounts and dismounts. Riding can be restricted in some areas. The pet menu lists pets by genus (Cogni, Fera, Natura, Varian and Special), previews each pet and its riding appearance, shows where a pet comes from and its owned effect, and tracks the collection with its own collection rewards. Pets and collection progress are shared by the characters on a server.
Taming: defeating a pet's source monster builds up its soul points; for example, Fossa soul points come from defeating Fossa monsters, and enough of them gives the Fossa pet. In the global client data every pet needs 5 souls.
Understanding: each pet's understanding level, up to 5, grants extra stats to the character. See Genus Insight for the genus-level layer on top.
New pets that can be obtained in Eltnen and Morheim arrived with the Chapter 1 update on July 1, 2026.
The Black Cloud Trading Company sells pets and Mysterious Pet Boxes; prices were halved on December 24, 2025 and quantities doubled for the same price on February 4, 2026.
The most useful pet function is Auto-Loot, added on July 29, 2026 on the Korean and Taiwanese build. It is sold as a timed item, applied per character, and priced in the gameplay currency rather than the premium one.
The pricing history is worth knowing because it shows where NCsoft draws the line on convenience. The initial plan was ten million Kina for thirty days; after player feedback the figure came down before release. A week after launch the thirty-day ticket was limited to two purchases per character per month and made sellable back to town merchants for bound Kina.
NCsoft's English announcement of June 17, 2026 described Auto-Loot as a feature that would be made available for all pets. On the Korean service it is bought from the special tab of the Wind Breeze Merchants shop, applies per character, and shows its remaining time in the pet menu. An on and off toggle was added on August 12, 2026, though the remaining time keeps counting down while it is off.
On October 7, 2026 the Korean service lowered the price of the Auto-Loot ticket in the Wind Breeze Merchants special tab, and its sell-back price to merchants, and said the Kina difference would be refunded to earlier buyers from play logs.
Mounts and wings sit in the same collection bucket in NCsoft's own marketing, and both have a cosmetic layer over a functional one.
Item | Function |
|---|---|
An equipment slot that carries stats, with a separate skin layer. Wing skins sold in the shop grant no stats. Wings can be enhanced, and different wing types affect flight power. | |
Mounts | Ridden travel. Sold as cosmetics in the shop and also earned in game. |
Whether wings and pets obtained through the shop grant stats has been described inconsistently in English coverage, with one account saying paid wings and pets are purely cosmetic and another saying wings and pets grant stats and come from both gameplay and the shop. The reconcilable reading is that the stat-bearing wing is the equipment item and the shop sells the skin, but NCsoft has not said that in those words, so this page does not assert it.
On the Korean service there is no separate mount item. The patch notes describe riding pets, and the July 1, 2026 Chapter 1 update let players ride pets inside dungeons, which NCsoft's English announcement of that update also describes as riding pets. NCsoft's English announcement of the April 8, 2026 Season 3 update mentioned three new mounts where the Korean notes for that update added three new pets, and the global FAQ calls the Pagati a mount, so English material uses mount for a rideable pet. Your own and other players' pets can be hidden in the display settings since July 29, 2026.
Newsletter subscribers ahead of the global launch were promised a Pagati mount, plus a choice of one additional companion from a short list including a Konutin Worker, a Papis, a Black Smoke Murute and a Silver Blade Rotan. Codes are redeemable in game after launch rather than before.
Codes are entered in game under Settings, then Miscellaneous, then Enter Coupon. On the Korean service the Pagati is a special-type pet, added on November 21, 2025 and sold for 2,000,000 Kina, once per character. The Black Dragon Pet in the global Ultimate Founder's Pack is an appearance-only item with no stats.
Aerial Combat and Flight for wings in flight. Genus Insight for species progression. Character Creation and Customization for the wider cosmetic layer. Monetization and Memberships for what the shop sells. Gear and Progression for the stat systems pets feed. Shugo Festival for the pet race.
