Deus Research Base is a Transcendence dungeon in AION 2 for up to five players. It has been in the game since the Korean and Taiwanese launch on November 19, 2025, and it is one of the two Transcendence dungeons NCsoft has named for the global launch. The Korean name is 데우스 연구기지.
At launch the dungeon ran on a ladder of ten stages; patch notes from November and December 2025 adjust monsters on stages 7 to 10 and fix a resurrection problem on stage 7 and above. On April 8, 2026, at the start of Season 3, the Korean service cut both launch Transcendence dungeons to four stages. From January 21, 2026 the two launch Transcendence dungeons carried a weekly final boss kill count of 28, which the Chapter 1 update removed on July 1, 2026.
Strategy write-ups describe the run as a points race: regular monsters and bosses add to a counter, and the final boss only appears once enough points are collected. Monsters that die buff their neighbours, and a debuff shared by all three bosses explodes on the player after three stacks.
Order | Boss | Korean name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
First | Gelcos | 경비대장 겔코스 | Guard Captain Gelcos in the Korean notes; whips, charges and pulls the party in, and a January 14, 2026 fix stopped its electric field spawning behind it |
Second | Nazmun | 연구소장 나즈문 | Research Director Nazmun in the Korean notes; on January 14, 2026 its time bombs went from four to three to leave a gap, and its high-voltage zone now picks a random target |
Final | Atiel | 아티엘 | Links players together, traps one player and sends out waves from the centre; a December 9, 2025 fix stopped Atiel's Cataclysmic World push when the attack is interrupted by stagger |
The dungeon's Soul Binder monsters slow their target; a December 9, 2025 fix made that slow removable with a healing potion. Atiel of Arrogance is also the headline boss of Consumed Deus Research Base, a level 50 Expedition added in August 2026.
The global launch events include a Transcendence Dungeon Leaderboard built on this dungeon and Shattered Arkanis. Clears earn Rank Points, standings are kept per server and per class and can be checked in game under ESC, Transcendence, Rank, Class. The event runs from September 30, 2026 on the Advance Access servers and from October 5, 2026 on the launch servers, until November 2, with top rankers announced on November 9. The top 10 on each class ladder receive 35,000 Enhance Stones, 30 Unique Amplify Stones, a Philosopher's Stone: Revelation, 5 Soul Codex Resets and 20 bound Resurrection Spirit Stones; places 11 to 50 receive a smaller bundle.
