Corroded Decontamination Facility
October 6, 2026 at 11:45 PM
Added an at-a-glance table, guidebook rewards, zone and respawn notes, boss fix history and the global status; renamed Tuning Stone to Sync Stone
Corroded Decontamination Facility is a Sanctuary raid in AION 2, called 침식의 정화소 in Korean. NCsoft opened it on the Korean and Taiwanese service on March 11, 2026 as the most challenging PvE dungeon in the game at the time. NCsoft's January 2026 roadmap already called it Corroded Decontamination Facility, a February 2026 announcement called it Sanctum of Erosion, and the March launch announcement and the game client both use Corroded Decontamination Facility, which is the current name.

The facility is a ruined Balaur base contaminated by experimental waste and abandoned test subjects, and the fight ends against the final boss Terminator Bargott. NCsoft gave the entry requirement as item level 3,700 at launch; the Korean service lowered it to 3,500 on March 18, 2026. Players who clear it can earn Hero and Unique items, including weapons and bracelets.
Global service: The global client's game data, as of its September 18, 2026 snapshot, contains this Sanctuary, but NCsoft has not announced it for the global service as of October 7, 2026. Everything else on this page describes the Korean and Taiwanese service.

The facility has named zones that matter for respawns. Since June 4, 2026 a player who dies after crossing the toxic gas of the Waste Disposal Zone (폐기물 처리구역) respawns at the gas zone's exit, and one who dies after crossing the poison of the Contamination Residue (오염 잔류지) respawns in front of that area. The start-area portal was removed and kisks were banned throughout on May 27, 2026, and its Vitality Drain (생기 고갈) effect was removed on April 22, 2026.
Order | Boss | Korean name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
First | Devouring Klawfly | 포식하는 뉴트라 | An insect boss with webs, poison and purple orbs collected in turn; stones it summons must be broken, all but one |
Second | Black Blood Blatt | 검은 피 블라트 | Hooks, pulls and bleeding, with a colour phase |
Final | Terminator Bargott | 중합체 바고트 | Bomb pattern; on July 1, 2026 the raid stopped wiping if only one bomb was left |
The Korean name of the final boss means Polymer Bargott; Terminator Bargott is NCsoft's English name. The first two names come from the game client's English data.
Korean strategy guides by different players agree on the main patterns of the first two bosses:
At 75% and 25% health it calls stones down from the sky and numbers players one to four; it then fires area attacks in that order, which players use to destroy the stones, and the party hides behind the last stones when Klawfly moves to the centre. Leftover stones melt into poison pools.
At 50% eight orbs travel outward from the centre and players take them one at a time while they are purple; a red orb explodes.
It burrows and follows the player it is aggressive towards, leaving poison, and webs can pull players toward the poison under it.
At 75% Blatt calls out red blood or purple light in a set order, and players step on tentacle zones of the called colour before two raid-wide attacks; a projectile hit removes the colour.
At 25% four survival circles appear, each holding a slime. A slime at full health explodes and a dead slime turns into a survival circle. Blatt spits purple venom that binds players and bursts slimes, and blue venom that heals; pairs keep their slime below half health and kill it just before the attack lands.
A crossing grab and arena-edge attacks; since April 22, 2026 one attack only needs two players to share it instead of three.
The final boss is a bomb fight with numbered charges, chains, flash bombs and a final bomb-clearing pattern. See Terminator Bargott.
March 18, 2026: weekly attempts set to four; middle bosses drop the Erosion Box; the Corroded Afterimage Bracelet gained 2.5% damage amplification.
April 8, 2026: Kina from its Odyle Energy Cube rose to 2,000,000, and the Erosion Box gained Hero Sync Stones.
June 4, 2026: respawn points moved past the toxic gas of the Waste Disposal Zone and to the front of the poison area of the Contamination Residue.
June 17, 2026: a recipe turns the Gear Change Voucher: Bargott and Kina into the Corroded Afterimage Bracelet.
July 1, 2026: middle boss rewards removed, everything paid from the final cube.
The Chapter 1 update on July 1, 2026 changed every Sanctuary: the attempt limit was removed, the reward limit became a final boss kill count of one per week with rewards doubled to compensate, the entry cost rose from 40 to 80 Odyle Energy, and the time limit was set to two hours. Since April 22, 2026 each boss room allows two resurrections in total, counting both skill resurrections and Resurrection Spiritstones, and the count resets when a boss fight starts, when the boss dies or when the party wipes.
