Black Smoke Murute (검은연기 무르트) is one of the two mid-bosses of the Fire Temple, an Expedition dungeon open since the Korean and Taiwanese service launched on November 19, 2025. He was the mid-boss the developers fought in the Korean pre-launch livestream. The Fire Temple's route forks to Murute and to Red Spark Ignus, each in his own arena, before the party glides down to Kromede's Desire. Since September 23, 2026 he is also fought in the Fire Temple Expedition Ordeal. Everything here describes the Korean and Taiwanese service; NCsoft's global notices had not listed the Expeditions open in the global build as of October 7, 2026.

Mechanics
Murute's most dangerous move starts when he raises both arms: he slams them down for heavy damage where they land, and circles then form under every party member, so players move as soon as the arms go up. The circles go off a little later than they appear to, and can be blocked or dodged with precise timing. He also stomps with one foot to start rings that widen in steps, and from half health adds stomp waves that grow outward twice after the first blast; all of them can be blocked or dodged with precise timing, and safer groups simply back away.
His other attacks are a jump onto the tank, a straight dash at the tank followed by a boulder thrown back the other way, and five projectile lines in a fan. A coolant console on the route switches off the burning hazards that fall in his arena.
Ordeal
Ordeal guides single out a series of three circles that cannot be guarded and repeats regularly, which fragile classes survive only with evasion or shields. NCsoft fixed his jump landing outside its warning area in the Ordeal on September 30, 2026.
