Replaced the global modes note: the October 14 global patch names the Battlefield and the transfer rules name the Arena
Oct 24, 2026, 11:24 PM
Add practical encounter and objective details while retaining regional rules and primary values.
11Not all of AION 2's PvP happens in Reshanta. A separate layer of modes runs on a schedule or a queue, and most of them normalise your stats so that the fight is about play rather than about gear.22Battlefield44Battlefield is the objective mode, and it is the one the global build has been shown with.66ElementDetailSizeTen against ten since July 1, 2026StatsEqualised inside. Mastery skills are forced to level 20 and Stigma skills to level 25, and you cannot learn new skills while inside.ObjectivesPoint capture. The Battlefield: Siege variant added with Chapter 1 has each side contest three zones for points, with all teams starting under identical conditions and a ten-minute window.ScheduleOpens daily from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 20:00 to 22:00 Korean time on the Korean service (since April 8, 2026)CurrencyAbyss Points and merit medals: since April 8, 2026 a win pays 3,000 Abyss Points and a gold merit medal, three times a week99The August 12, 2026 patch split matching into solo and five-player queues only, so a group of two or three cannot queue as a group, and added removal for inactive players.1010The map has changed with the seasons. The Season 1 map, Cradle of Ode Shards, gave way to a flag mode for Season 2 on January 21, 2026, returned for Season 3 on April 8, and was replaced by a new map with the Chapter 1 update on July 1, 2026. Battlefield: Siege has the full rules, schedule and reward history.1212The Season 2 flag map has its own page, Snowfield Where the Storm Sleeps, and the Sandstorm Temple rules are on Battlefield: Siege. For open-world PvP outside these modes, and for same-faction duels, see PK and Duels.1414Arena1717Arena is the small-scale ladder. It runs a solo bracket and a co-op bracket, and the co-op bracket has been five against five since July 1, 2026 in line with the party-size change.1919Separate leaderboards are kept for the solo and co-op ladders.2121Since the Season 3 update on April 8, 2026 arena rankings have been based on class ranking, and since August 12, 2026 the cooperative arena has formed teams regardless of faction and healing received in the Arena has been reduced by 20%. See Arena.2323Abyss Rift Zone2525Added June 17, 2026, the Abyss Rift Zone is a scheduled event inside the Abyss in which the two sides score points by killing bosses that appear in phases. It runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 PM, requires level 45 and item level 3,000, and does not affect Abyss rankings.2727A July 15, 2026 rework moved it to faction-integrated matching. Rewards include Abyss Points, Abyss commendation medals and a set of Abyss boss paintings. The September 9, 2026 patch raised boss stats, cut the total number of bosses, raised the per-boss reward bundle, and gave eight boss types a 25-second invulnerability window below an HP threshold, usable up to twice per fight.2929The September 9, 2026 Korean update added Abyss Rift Zone missions to the weekly and season Abyss mission lists. This supersedes the launch rule that the mode did not count toward those missions.3131Spacetime Rift: Domination3333Domination is the large-scale open-map mode, fought over strongholds in Verteron and Altgard rather than in an instance. It launched on the Korean and Taiwanese build on September 2, 2026.3535ElementDetailScheduleMonday, Thursday and Saturday at 20:00 and 23:00RotationAttacker and defender roles swap weekly between the two territoriesEntryLevel 50, item level 4,500, Combat Power 500,000, plus the stronghold-clearing achievement for both territoriesObjectiveStrongholds fall when all three of their Monoliths are destroyed. The September 9 patch cut the battle from 25 to 15 minutes and the strongholds per group from five to four, halved the flight time consumed while taking part, limited contribution for repeat kills on the same target and slightly reduced assist contribution. Patches on September 16 and 23 raised the points for attacking Monoliths, restricted movement outside the battle area and helped attackers get back to the active strongholds. See Spacetime Rift: Domination.3838Outlands4040Outlands is a hundred-player battle royale mode: everyone enters on equal terms, farms equipment and items on the map, fights, and is paid by survival rank. It was announced as Chapter 1 content on the Korean and Taiwanese build.4242NCsoft's English announcement of June 17, 2026 listed Outlands among the Chapter 1 content. As of the October 7, 2026 patch, it had not appeared in any Korean patch note.4444Global Availability4646NCsoft's server matchmaking explainer for the global launch, published on September 29, 2026, names the Abyss and Spacetime Rifts among the modes where the two factions meet. The global build was also shown in August 2026 with a ten-versus-ten objective battleground with stat normalisation and with a PvP flag toggle available everywhere except the Abyss, which is faction-versus-faction by default. Everything else above is Korean and Taiwanese live-build state; as of October 2, 2026, NCsoft has not published which of the other modes are open on the global servers.4848NCsoft's launch-server matchmaking notice of October 4, 2026 repeats that the factions meet in the Spacetime Rifts and the Abyss, through server pairings that last for a limited time. The global October 14, 2026 patch adjusts standard stats in the Battlefield to bring combat duration to an appropriate level, and the global transfer Q&A (first posted October 9, updated October 14) lists Arena Season Rank Points, so both modes are named in global first-party posts. As of October 15, 2026 no global post names the Abyss Rift Zone or Domination, and NCsoft has not published global Battlefield or Arena schedules.5050Shard Catalyst escort objective52+When the battleground uses the Shard Catalyst escort objective, the central object must be moved toward the opposing camp.
