Zeverland is a co-op PVE survival crafting game played from the first minutes of an outbreak. The loop is recognisable: stay alive, take the world apart, build something out of the pieces, and hold onto it. What ties the systems together is the studio's rule that everything is interactive, which means they feed each other rather than sitting in separate menus. This page summarises the systems and points at the pages that cover them in full.
The Survival Loop

A run begins with a spawn into an unprepared world. Hunger, thirst and stamina tick down, encumbrance limits what can be carried, and the immediate problem is food, water and something to hit a Zed with. Survival Needs covers the needs themselves. Looting and Scavenging covers where supplies come from and how often they come back: loot refreshed on a four to six hour cycle in the second tech test and gas stations ran dry, so scavenging is a routing problem as much as a searching one.
Death is not total. Items in the quick bar stay with the character and the rest stays on the body to be retrieved. Death by infection is the exception, and it leads into Playing as a Zombie.
Taking the World Apart
Crafting and Modification is the central system. Objects can be dismantled in bulk by holding Ctrl, stored by type and sorted by material, then fed into workbenches, some of which burn fuel. Blueprints exist as their own item class and are found rather than bought. Weapon Assembly is the same system pointed at combat: ordinary objects fuse into weapons, and limbs harvested from special infected can be used to upgrade them.
Somewhere to Put It
Building is free form rather than a fixed kit, and key locations on the map can be claimed as a shelter. Base Building covers construction. Territory and Claims covers the territory flag, what a claim protects and what it does not: items inside a claimed territory cannot be taken by other players, zombies do not respawn inside one, and a home is safe while its owner is logged out. The studio has been explicit that this is not a game about raiding empty bases. Power and Electricity covers generators, wiring and lights, which existed in the second test and are a named refinement target on the July 2026 roadmap.
Mobility and Help
Vehicles and RVs are framed as mobile homes rather than as transport, with furniture and modules mounted onto them. NPC Companions are survivors met in the world who can be recruited by helping them, then kept fed and safe while they work and stand guard; the number that can be recruited is governed by the Charisma stat. Farming and Fishing and Cooking cover the food supply once scavenging stops being enough, and Medical System covers injury and illness.
The Threat
Zombies and Infection covers Zed behaviour, including that most gear visible on a zombie can be looted from it and that armed zombies hitting hard is deliberate. Special Infected covers the two named variants. Infected Zones covers the tiered contaminated areas, where a respirator lasted twenty minutes in the second test. Combat covers fighting itself, including bosses and the skill experience they grant. Wolves exist as a lethal non-zombie threat.
Playing With Others
Servers and Multiplayer covers hosting, which settled on official servers plus officially hosted private servers on 3 August 2026, alongside the solo mode announced in July 2026. PvE and PvP covers the studio's move away from player versus player content. Factions matter here too, because players of different factions can fight each other and their companion NPCs do the same, which the studio lists as working as intended.
