Ship Design: Brethren's Brig is a Recipe Papers item that unlocks the Brethren Brig, the durable, 14-gun Brig variant favored by the Brethren of the Coast. Brethren ships are true sea fortresses, thanks to their exceptionally sturdy hulls and spacious holds. The trade-off is speed: a Brethren Brig is slower than the Stock Brig and far slower than the Blackbeard Brig, but it absorbs hits the lighter variants cannot.

Effect

Reading the design adds the Brethren Brig recipe to your Shipwright menu. Once unlocked, the recipe persists across deaths; the design paper is consumed.

Every hull in Windrose comes in three variants. The Brig is the mid-size hull, sitting between the light Ketch and the heavy Frigate. The variant you build decides whether that hull leans toward balance, durability, or speed:

How to Get the Design

Ship Design: Brethren's Brig is sold by the Brethren of the Coast Provisioner at high reputation tiers. It is one of the two most expensive items in the Brethren Provisioner stock; the other is the Frigate equivalent. Climbing Brethren reputation through faction Buyer sales, contract deliveries, and the faction quest line is the standard path to unlocking the buy line.

Tips

The Brethren Brig is the most defensive Brig in the game. Bring it to fights you expect to win on attrition, not maneuver.
Pair the hull with Plans: Iron Resolve Hull Bracing or Plans: Standfast Hull Bracing for additional HP if you are running fleet engagements.
The 14-gun broadside means seven cannons per side. Stagger reload cycles for sustained fire on long fights rather than dumping volleys all at once.
