Privateer's Regalia

Add pieces table and correct 2-piece bonus (flat +10% crit, not per-enemy)
Privateer's Regalia is an armor set in Windrose that rewards fighting in a crowd of enemies by scaling Critical Hit Chance and Critical Damage per nearby foe. It excels in Pirate Camp clears and dungeon rooms where multiple enemies engage simultaneously.
Pieces Equipped | Bonus |
|---|---|
2 pieces | +10% Critical Hit Chance per nearby enemy |
4 pieces | +10% Critical Damage per nearby enemy |
The precise radius and stack cap that define "nearby enemy" continue to be documented by the community, but the core interaction is clear: more enemies around you means more crit chance and crit damage, turning the Regalia into a scaling set that gets stronger the worse your positioning looks.
Pairs with Crusher-branch builds that use halberds and greatswords to hit multiple enemies per swing. The Executioner halberd's Rage mechanic (+10% crit per kill, up to 30%) stacks with Privateer's Regalia's 2-piece for a potentially enormous crit chance when diving into a group. Toughguy talents like Outnumbered (+4-10% damage vs multiple enemies) compound the crowd-damage theme. Use a Strength food buff and an Elixir of Concentration (critical damage boost) for boss rooms that spawn waves of adds.
Dive into crowds rather than pulling single enemies
The set underperforms in 1v1 boss fights where no adds spawn
Pair with AoE weapons: halberd sweeps, greatsword wide arcs, blunderbuss spread shots
Stack before a Pirate Camp clear for maximum efficiency
"Privateer" was the historical term for a state-sanctioned pirate operating under a letter of marque. Windrose's privateer sets lean into the legitimized-violence thematic: well-dressed, heavily armored combatants who bring overwhelming force to bear rather than sneaking. The name positions the set as the wardrobe of captains who fight openly rather than from shadow.

Slot | Piece | Defense |
|---|---|---|
Head | Privateer's Tricorne | 100 |

Hands | Privateer's Gloves | 100 |
Legs | Privateer's Pants | 100 |
Feet | Privateer's Boots | 100 |
2-piece: +10% flat Critical Hit Chance (not per enemy)
4-piece: +10% Critical Damage per nearby enemy, up to a maximum of 30% (3 enemies)
Only the 4-piece bonus scales per enemy; the 2-piece is a flat critical chance boost. Earlier versions of Windrose wiki content had this reversed, attributing the per-enemy scaling to the 2-piece. The correct mechanics are as listed above and are verified against Method.gg, Windrose DB, and Boostmatch.
Privateer's Regalia is sold by the People of Tortuga Provisioner. The Doublet and Pants unlock at Reputation Rank 2 for 200 Piastres each. Higher Rank thresholds unlock the remaining pieces (Tricorne, Gloves, Boots). A full Rare set at max-level upgrades can approach 180 effective defense (the armor-averaging threshold most players target).
