The Pier Winch is a hauling drum that dresses a dock, one of the Pier Decorations that give a harbor its working look. It sits well next to coiled cordage such as the Large Rope Coil and the smaller Rope Coil, and together these props turn a plain landing into a believable loading quay.
Its Max Health of 1,500 represents how much punishment the structure absorbs before it is destroyed. Decorations are not combat structures, so this mainly matters during raids or stray area damage; a destroyed piece must be rebuilt from the same materials.
Building one takes five Wood and one Rope. Both are staple early materials, Wood from felled trees and Rope twisted from plant fibers, so the winch is inexpensive to add even when you are furnishing a long pier.

The recipe is learned from the Decoration: Pier Decorations plan, the same blueprint that unlocks the rest of the dockside props.
Every decoration in this category contributes to your settlement's Comfort rating, the housing score that rewards captains for building a pleasant base rather than a bare one. This piece grants a +1 bonus to the Pier category. Comfort bonuses inside a single category do not stack, so building several pieces from the same group does not multiply the bonus; each one still reports the same +1 value.
Like all furnishings, it only functions when placed inside the radius of a Bonfire. Outside that range it still stands as built but stops counting toward Comfort, so position decorations near the fire that anchors your camp. Mixing pieces from different Comfort categories is the practical way to push the overall score higher.
Place the winch beside rope coils and other dock props so the pier reads as an active loading area.
Wood and Rope are both early staples, making the winch a cheap way to add detail and Comfort to a harbor.
Keep it inside the bonfire radius so it contributes to the Pier Comfort category along with your other pier decorations.
