Large Roof (Straw) is the wide variant of the straw Roof piece, sloped at 26 degrees. It is part of the earliest roofing tier: cheap, fast to place, and made from materials you gather by hand. Each piece costs one Wood and two Plant Fiber, and it has 500 max health, the standard value for straw roofing.

Roofs sit on top of Walls to close a structure and keep the interior sheltered. The large version spans more area than the standard Roof (Straw) for the same shallow 26 degree pitch, so fewer placements are needed to cover a wide building. It is taught together with triangular walls so the gable ends of a pitched roof line up cleanly.

Tips

• Gather Plant Fiber from bushes and grass and chop Wood from trees; both are free early materials, so straw roofs are ideal for a first shelter.

• Use the large panels across the broad span of a roof and fill the ends with Triangular Roof (Straw) to seal the gables.

• At 500 max health straw is the weakest roofing; upgrade to reed or tile roofs for bases that may be raided.
