Iron Resolve
Iron Resolve is a Hull Modification for ships in Windrose. It is one of three Hull Bracings available in the live build, alongside Keelhold and Standfast. Iron Resolve favors players who expect to fight at low health; the bracing converts the dangerous phase of an engagement into a survivability spike rather than a race to finish the fight before the hull breaks.

Defense | 100 at base tier (scales with Item Level) |
Effects
Tier | Effect |
|---|---|
Rare | Damage Resistance scales up as Ship Health drops. The boost climbs continuously until the hull hits roughly 30% health, at which point the effect caps at +25% Damage Resistance. |
Epic | Keeps the Rare scaling effect and adds a flat +30% Repair Kit effectiveness on top. The combined result is a bracing that both survives the low-health phase and restores more hull per Combat Repair Kit use than any other bracing during that phase. |
How to Obtain
The plan is sold by the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner at Reputation Tier 2. Reaching that tier requires roughly 100 reputation points with the Smugglers, accumulated by turning in Insignias (combat drops) and Letters of Favor (non-combat faction quest rewards). Once the plan is purchased, Iron Resolve is crafted at the Shipwright's Workshop at the player's base. Upgrading from Rare to Epic uses the same station via the rare-to-epic ascension process.
When to Pick Iron Resolve
Prolonged Frigate engagements where the fight is expected to spend time below 40% hull health. The scaling DR compounds with Combat Repair Kit usage to swing what would be a sinking into a survivable comeback.
Outnumbered patrols where the player expects sustained incoming fire from multiple angles. The low-health phase is unavoidable in that profile; Iron Resolve turns the risk into a buff.
Duo or solo players who prefer kiting and repositioning rather than sustained volley trades. Iron Resolve rewards staying alive through the danger phase, which is exactly what kiting playstyles spend most of their time doing.
Comparison to the Other Hull Bracings
The three Hull Bracings cover three different survivability profiles:
Keelhold: removes the interrupt on Repair Kit duration (Epic also adds +30% duration). The community-consensus meta pick for most engagements.
Iron Resolve: scales DR as hull health drops, capping around +25% at 30% health. Epic adds +30% Repair Kit effectiveness.
Standfast: builds damage-absorption stacks over time; each incoming hit consumes a stack and reduces the hit's damage by 25% for 3 seconds. Epic starts with 8 stacks instead of 5.
Keelhold is usually the default pick because Repair Kit consistency compounds across every engagement. Iron Resolve is the alternative for players who want the low-health buff and are comfortable letting the hull drop. Standfast is the alternative for short-duration fights where the pre-built stacks can absorb the opening volley.
Defense by Item Level
Hull Bracings scale Defense with Item Level through the upgrading process at the Shipwright's Workshop. Iron Resolve starts at 100 Defense at Item Level 1 and climbs through the standard bracing progression; the community has not published the exact per-level DEF table for each bracing, but Keelhold, Iron Resolve, and Standfast share the same DEF scaling curve as ship bracings generally.
