The Foundation (Sticks) is the base layer of any structure, the piece you place on the ground first before adding floors, walls, and pillars. It is the cheapest foundation available, woven from Plant Fiber rather than the Wood or Stone needed by the sturdier tiers, which makes it the natural first foundation for a starter shelter.
The stick and Foundation (Logs) tiers both have 1,500 Max Health, so sticks are the cheaper way to reach that durability early on. Step up to the Foundation (Stone) at 2,500 Max Health once you need a raid-resistant base. Lay a matching Floor (Sticks) on top to complete the woven starter set.
