Overview

Capital (Stone) is a stone column capital, the carved top that finishes a pillar. It sits in the Pillars and Beams category and is a decorative cap rather than a structural element, used together with a column and base to complete a stone pillar.

Construction and Placement

The capital is placed in Base Building mode and snaps onto the top of a column. It is designed to pair with the Column (Stone) and Column Base (Stone) from the same plan, and it lines up with the arches in that set so capped columns can support an arcade.

Materials and Recipe

Each stone capital costs 2 Stone and places in about 1 second. The recipe is unlocked by the Plans: Columns and Arches blueprint, the same plan that teaches the columns, bases, the mahogany capital, and every arch shape in the set.

Durability

Its Max Health is 750, which is the lowest of the pieces in this set and exactly half the Capital (Mahogany) value of 1,500. Because it is the most fragile cap, keep it for sheltered or purely decorative spots and reach for the mahogany capital where the build is likely to take damage.

Build Tips

Cap a Column (Stone) with this piece for an all-stone pillar, but remember its 750 health is the weak point of the set, so it is best kept indoors or on low-risk decoration. Stone is cheap and plentiful, so producing a batch of capitals for a colonnade costs very little.
