36-Pounders: Tempered is a 36-pound ship cannon, the Epic-rarity ascended version crafted from the base Rare cannon plus Tumbaga Ingot. Forged and handled with restraint, these guns are meant to be fired with deliberation, not haste. Only Frigate-class hulls support 36-pound cannons in their main battery, and only the Blackbeard Frigate variant as an upgrade from the default 24-pound loadout.

In-Game Effect

After reloading, waiting 6 seconds before firing increases the next volley's Damage by 40%. Hitting a Weak Spot deals 20% bonus Damage.

Crafting Recipes

36-Pounders: Tempered can be crafted through the following recipes at the Shipwright's Workshop. Each tier uses progressively higher-quality metals and planks so higher-level stations unlock better material pipelines for the same ship weapon.

When to Use

Tempered cannons reward disciplined crews who can hold their broadsides for 6 seconds after reload. Run them on ships you intend to stay at range and pick your volleys with, not on skirmishers. Pairs naturally with Naval Tactics I: Ambush for patient burst opens.

The Epic (Ascended) tier adds a universal Weak Spot damage bonus (+20% bonus damage to Weak Spot hits). This stacks on top of the Rare tier's mechanical effect rather than replacing it, so the ascended cannon is strictly better if you have Tumbaga Ingot to spare and want the final-tier DPS.
