Hollowones (Chinese: Kongxinren, meaning "hollow person") are the playable characters in Varsapura. They possess supernatural abilities that make them uniquely suited to fighting the threats posed by Mindrot. The SEAL organization recruits Hollowones as field operatives to investigate and contain paranormal incidents in the City of Rain.
The protagonist
The player's main character is a specific Hollowone with a personal agenda. She joins SEAL not out of civic duty but to find a SEAL officer who killed "her former self." She inherited a snake-scale umbrella from this officer, which became her primary weapon. She has an unexplained trait: upon entering the City of Rain, her appearance shifts to match each viewer's preferences.
Abilities
Hollowones demonstrate supernatural combat powers:
Enhanced physical abilities including speed, strength, and reflexes beyond normal humans
Unique combat skills tied to unconventional weapons: an umbrella, weaponized documents, a wrecking ball
The ability to participate in Cooperative Techniques when swapping between characters

The 31-minute demo showed three playable Hollowones:
Hollowone (protagonist) who fights with a snake-scale umbrella
Sayuki, a SEAL officer who fights with weaponized police documents
Dokki, a chaotic fighter wielding a customized wrecking ball
The full roster has not been revealed. Whether new characters will be added post-launch through updates or DLC has not been announced.
Party system
Players deploy a party of 3 Hollowones but control only one at a time. The character swapping system allows instant switches between party members during combat, triggering intro and outro attacks as part of the Cooperative Technique chain.
