Varsapura uses a third-person, melee-focused combat system built around a 3-character party. Players control one Hollowone at a time and can swap to either of the other two party members instantly during combat. Each swap triggers a Cooperative Technique chain attack.
Per-character abilities
Every character has the same ability structure:
Normal attacks (light and heavy) forming combo chains
One skill with a cooldown
One ultimate / burst ability for high-damage moments
An intro attack when swapped in and an outro attack when swapped out
What varies between characters is speed, range, damage type, and fighting style. Hollowone's umbrella is fast and versatile, Sayuki's documents cover mid-range area damage, and Dokki's wrecking ball is slow but devastating against groups.
Stamina management
A stamina/energy indicator in the HUD constrains combat actions. Players cannot spam infinite combos; they need to manage their offensive output and find windows between attacks. The exact recovery rate and how different weapons interact with the resource bar have not been detailed.
Environmental interaction
The demo showed destructible environments during fights. Weapon attacks break objects and scatter debris. Set-piece moments are integrated into combat sequences, with cinematic camera angles triggering during certain high-damage attacks.
Enemies
Hostile creatures are spawned from Mindrot. They range from small, fast shadow creatures to large boss-level entities with multiple attack phases and weak points. The demo showed enemies that required learning attack patterns and timing dodges, though the difficulty level seemed moderate compared to full Soulslike games.
Comparison to other HoYoverse titles
Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero also use real-time action combat with character swapping. Varsapura's version is more grounded in its animations, with motion-captured movements that carry realistic weight. The tempo looks faster than Genshin Impact and comparable to Zenless Zone Zero, but the photorealistic rendering gives hits a different feel.
