The Hollowone is the player character in Varsapura. Her Chinese name, Kongxinren, translates to "hollow person." She is a woman with a deeply personal mission: a mysterious SEAL officer carrying a snake-scale umbrella killed "her former self." Hollowone inherited this umbrella and now seeks to join SEAL to get close to her target and uncover what happened.
The snake-scale umbrella
Hollowone's primary weapon is a snake-scale umbrella inherited from the SEAL officer who destroyed her previous existence. It functions as:
A melee weapon with umbrella strikes and wide-arc swings for close combat
A throwable projectile that returns to Hollowone automatically after being launched
A gliding tool for aerial traversal across the City of Rain
A stealth tool allowing silent glides for overhead drop attacks during stealth sequences
Appearance anomaly
Hollowone has an unexplained parapsychological trait: upon entering Varsapura, her appearance shifts to match each viewer's preferences. This is recognized within the story as an anomaly, not a game mechanic. The exact significance of this trait is likely tied to her nature as a Hollowone and her connection to the collective unconscious.
Dual motivation
Hollowone operates on two narrative tracks simultaneously:
Personal revenge: Finding the officer who killed her former self and uncovering the truth about what was done to her
SEAL missions: Carrying out surface-level assignments dealing with Mindrot threats, which provides cover for her real investigation
Mr. Shadow, SEAL's director, appears to see through her real motives, creating tension between Hollowone's public duties and private agenda.
Combat abilities
In the combat system, Hollowone uses normal attacks (light and heavy umbrella combos), one skill with a cooldown, and one ultimate ability. She also has a stun ability usable during stealth to briefly incapacitate enemies if detected. Her umbrella-based moveset distinguishes her from standard sword or gun characters.
