The City of Rain is the primary setting of Varsapura. It is a modern metropolis under perpetual rainfall, heavily inspired by Singapore. The city is SEAL's operational territory and the location where Mindrot outbreaks most frequently occur.
Singapore foundation
The city's geography is based on real Singapore neighborhoods. Demo footage shows street signs with actual Singapore road names: Rochor Road, Serangoon Road, Ophir Road, and Kallang Road. Recognizable landmarks include buildings resembling NAFA (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts), Duo Galleria, CHIJMES, Lazada One, and Saint Andrew's Cathedral. Atmosphere
Rain never stops in this city. UE5's rendering produces layered wet surfaces, puddle reflections, neon light scatter through water droplets, and volumetric fog drifting through alleyways. The constant rain is not decorative; it is a consequence of the city's proximity to the consciousness realm, where humanity's collective subconscious takes the form of rainfall.
Layout and districts
The demo showed commercial zones with neon-lit storefronts, residential neighborhoods with apartment blocks, and street-level scenes with traffic, pedestrians, and food stalls. The exact number and names of districts have not been officially listed. The open world is seamless with no loading screens between areas.
Exploration
Players can traverse the city on foot, by vehicle, or through vertical movement (climbing, parkour, and umbrella-gliding). Rooftop areas, building interiors, and underground locations are all accessible. The multi-level architecture supports both the stealth and combat pillars, since players can approach encounters from above, below, or head-on.
Supernatural zones
During Cognosea disruption events, affected areas transform. The sky becomes unsettled, visual distortions appear, and the boundary between the material world and the Otherworld blurs. Inside these zones, architecture can shift into surreal configurations, corridors can loop impossibly, and shadow creatures emerge from Mindrot concentrations.
