The Bluemoon is a small, passive, edible fish in Subnautica 2 and one of the three moon-family fish a new diver meets first. It spawns commonly in the shallows around the starting area, which makes it a reliable early food source before a proper supply chain exists. Eaten raw it restores 10 food and 5 water, the only moon fish that hydrates rather than dehydrates.

Appearance and Behavior

Like its relatives, the Bluemoon has a crescent-shaped body with a pair of crescent fins and two long, thin tails. The dorsal side is blue, the belly white and orange, and a pair of dark stripes runs down from each eye. Bluemoons hide in patches of sea whips and school together with Halfmoons and Harvestmoons.

Food and Crafting
