The Voices From Beyond audio drama further establishes Alterra's role in the pre-arrival timeline. Episode 4 includes a character asking "was it negligence at Alterra? Some kind of miscalculation?" in reference to the crisis on Zezura, and the series cast credits list a character simply titled "Alterra Engineer" (voiced by Hester Lee), confirming the corporation remains active in the Subnautica 2 era.
