Voices from Beyond
Voices from Beyond is an ongoing short-form audio drama series set in the Subnautica universe. Produced by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, it serves as a marketing campaign and narrative bridge leading up to Subnautica 2's Early Access launch. The series is distributed through the Unknown Worlds website and Steam news posts.
Story
The series follows a Mongolian family of three (a father, mother, and their newborn daughter) as a crisis unfolds across the Ariadne Arm. The narrative is told primarily through diegetic audio, including radio broadcasts and news reports, mirroring the PDA audio logs and radio messages that serve as the primary storytelling format in the Subnautica games.

Episodes
Episode 1: "Don't Fear"
Released November 25, 2025. Introduces the family in their Mongolian settlement. A distant but growing threat begins encroaching on their way of life.

Episode 2: "Dreamers"
Released December 19, 2025. The situation in the settlement turns dire. People begin to flee, and the family must decide whether to stay or go.
Episode 3: "Pioneer"
Released January 29, 2026. The settlement falls into chaos as havoc spreads across the Ariadne Arm. The episode directly asks whether "Zezura" represents hope for the family, providing the clearest in-universe tie to Subnautica 2.

Additional episodes are planned before the Early Access launch.

Connection to Subnautica 2
The inclusion of Ryley Robinson (voiced by Dan Gordon as a podcast host) bridges the timeline from the first game to Subnautica 2. Producer Donya Abramo has described the series as connecting "our games in the Subnautica universe." Episode 3's reference to Zezura as a potential refuge confirms the audio drama is directly setting up the events of Subnautica 2.
The presence of an Alterra Engineer among the cast (Hester Lee's character) also confirms that Alterra Corporation remains active in the timeline between Below Zero and Subnautica 2.
