Moonlit Forest Spirit Locations
February 22, 2026 at 12:26 PM
Major expansion: precise per-spirit locations, navigation instructions, rewards, and Harvest Yard set
The Moonlit Forest contains orange crystalline formations called Gravecrystals (also called Gravemites). Breaking one with a pickaxe releases a Gravestar, a small glowing spirit that floats toward a locked gate or treasure chest. Collecting a full set of Gravestars in an area unlocks the corresponding reward.
There are 11 spirits across 4 areas: 3 at the Gate of Life, 3 at the Crystalith Hideout, 3 at Mural Valley, and 2 at the Harvest Yard. The first three sets each unlock a treasure chest. The Harvest Yard set enables the waterwheel repair instead.
Gravecrystals have a reddish-orange glow that looks similar to Fluorite veins. They are easy to walk past in the darker cave environments. Scan walls and floors carefully whenever you enter a new room.
This is the first set you encounter, in the Evernight Forest and Gate of Life areas.
Located just before the first bridge in the opening area of the Evernight Forest. The Gravecrystal sits near the path leading to the bridge. Important: you must repair the bridge first (costs 15 Stone) before freeing this spirit. The Gravestar needs the bridge to cross to the gate. If you free it before repairing, the spirit cannot reach its destination.
One crystal sits right beside the camp in the Evernight Forest area. It is near the tent and easy to spot once you know to look for the orange glow.
From the camp, take the left path heading down. You will need to defeat a Runebird along the way. After the fight, climb the ledge to find the third Gravecrystal on the small cliffs directly south of the Gate of Life.
All three Gravestars converge at the giant gate. A treasure chest appears in front of the Gate of Life. Collecting all three also opens the Astral Path to Dreamfall Garden, allowing you to proceed deeper into the forest.
Found in the area between the Crystalith Hideout and Azure Bay.
At the very start of the path leading from Crystalith Hideout toward Azure Bay. The Gravecrystal is along the left wall near the ground.
On the opposite side of the same path as Spirit 1. Look across the walkway and slightly higher on the cave wall.
On the far left of the Crystalith Hideout area, above the cluster of giant purple mushrooms. You may need to climb or jump to reach the ledge where this Gravecrystal sits.
A treasure chest appears at the base of the giant purple mushrooms.
Found in and around the Mural Valley campsite.
By the rocks between the Mural Valley camp and the river. It is close to ground level and partially obscured by the rock formations.
On the right side of the Mural Valley campsite. Check the walls and alcoves near the tent area.
Back down the path on the far left of the map from the Mural Valley camp. This one is the most out-of-the-way in the set. You need to backtrack toward the Azure Bay direction to find it.
A treasure chest on elevated cliffs to the left of the path between Azure Bay and Mural Valley. To reach it, look for a fallen tree trunk on the back-left side of the campsite and use it as a ramp to climb up to the cliff.
This set works differently. Instead of unlocking a treasure chest, freeing these two spirits enables the waterwheel repair, which is the elevator connecting Harvest Yard, Grain Haven, and Darkwater Shore.
Near the bridge in the Harvest Yard area, one spirit is trapped inside a floating bubble. Break the bubble to free it. This is the only spirit in the forest that starts trapped rather than embedded in a Gravecrystal.
In the open clearing next to the Grain Haven camp. This one is straightforward to find since the area is relatively open compared to the tight corridors elsewhere.
After freeing both spirits, you can repair the waterwheel. This also requires:
Waterwheel Bearing: obtained from Zephyria when you start the Senior Explorer trial
5 Primorite: mined in Mural Valley
5 Magnetite: translucent white deposits in the Glintortle boss arena
5 Gold: found beyond Crystalith Hideout (requires Impact Hammer)
Once repaired, the waterwheel elevator goes up to Grain Haven or down to Darkwater Shore. Press the button to reverse direction.
Repair the broken bridge (15 Stone) before freeing Spirit 1 at the Gate of Life. The Gravestar cannot cross without it.
Gravecrystals glow orange and look similar to Fluorite. If you pass a suspicious glow, hit it with your pickaxe.
The Mural Valley reward chest is on an elevated cliff. Look for the fallen tree trunk as a ramp; it is easy to miss.
Harvest Yard spirits do not unlock a chest. They unlock the waterwheel, which is far more valuable for progression.
There are 47 treasure chests total in the Moonlit Forest. Spirit chests are only 3 of them. Explore thoroughly for the rest.
The Serenity's Rest area has a separate puzzle (shooting 6 torches with Fire Arrows) that is not spirit-based.
