Overview

Ink Phoenixfish is a fish species in Starsand Island, found exclusively in the Spiritshade River within the Moonlit Forest. Known for its dark, dramatic coloring that evokes ink-stained feathers, the Ink Phoenixfish is considered the rarest of the three Spiritshade River species. It shares its habitat with the Daisy Ricefish (Spring) and the Glassfish (Autumn), but the Ink Phoenixfish appears only during Summer.

Catch Details

The Ink Phoenixfish has a generous 20-hour active window from 06:00 to 02:00 and appears in both sunny and rainy weather. Its Summer-only season means you have one in-game season per year cycle to catch it. The fish responds exclusively to Veggie Bait.

How to Catch

The Spiritshade River is an underground fishing location inside the Moonlit Forest. Access requires progressing through the Exploration Club. Once inside the dungeon, navigate to the Spiritshade River water body. Equip Veggie Bait (crafted at the Chopper II from crops or foraged plants) and chum the water. Keep a mid-tier or better Fishing Rod equipped for comfortable catches.

Fish Pond

Ink Phoenixfish can be placed in a Fish Pond for breeding and display. Its dark, dramatic appearance makes it a visually striking pond resident. Keep fish food stocked and oxygen at adequate levels for breeding.

• The Ink Phoenixfish is Summer-only, so plan your Moonlit Forest trips around this window.

• At 124 Coins, it is slightly less valuable than the Glassfish (143 Coins) and Daisy Ricefish (143 Coins), but still a worthwhile catch.

• Selling at the Merchant Ship doubles the price to 248 Coins.
