Overview
Daisy Ricefish is a tiny freshwater fish in Starsand Island, found exclusively in the Spiritshade River within the Moonlit Forest. The Spiritshade River is an underground waterway, and the Daisy Ricefish is one of three species unique to this hidden fishing spot. Despite its small size, the Daisy Ricefish commands a respectable sell price of 143 Coins, tied with the Glassfish as the most valuable standard catch in this zone. It appears only during Spring and requires Bug Bait to attract.

The Daisy Ricefish has a wide 20-hour window from 06:00 to 02:00 and appears in both sunny and rainy weather. Its single-season restriction (Spring only) means careful planning is required if you want to check it off your Islandpedia.
How to Catch
Access to the Spiritshade River requires progressing through the Exploration Club to unlock the Moonlit Forest. Navigate through the dungeon to the Spiritshade River fishing spot. Equip Bug Bait (crafted at the Chopper III from caught bugs) and chum the water to generate fish shadows. A mid-tier Fishing Rod works fine for this small species.
Cooking and Processing
Daisy Ricefish can be processed into Fish Fillet at the Separator. Fish Fillet appears in 10 recipes across the Campfire, Gas Stove, and Beach Festival menus:
Recipe | Ingredients | Buff |
|---|---|---|
3x Fish Fillet | None | |
4x Fish Fillet, 2x Leek | Never Skunked | |
3x Fish Fillet, 2x Rice | None | |
6x Fish Fillet, 2x Leek, 2x Sugar, 1x Fine Salt | Underwater Treasure |
Fish Pond
Daisy Ricefish requires only 1 oxygen unit in a Fish Pond, making it very efficient to house. Its small size means you can keep several in a single pond without straining oxygen capacity. Stock fish food and check for eggs after 1 to 2 in-game days.
Tips
Daisy Ricefish is a Spring-only species. Visit the Spiritshade River early in Spring to avoid missing the window.
Spring is also when the Fringetail Glowfish appears in the Spore Cascade. Bring both Bug Bait and Veggie Bait to catch species from both Moonlit Forest zones in a single trip.
At 143 Coins, selling at the Merchant Ship yields 286 Coins per fish.
The Daisy Ricefish and Glassfish share the same sell price (143 Coins) and are the highest-value standard catches in the Spiritshade River.
Catching all three Spiritshade River species across Spring, Summer, and Autumn completes that portion of the Islandpedia stamps.
