Cooking buffs are temporary effects granted by eating specific cooked meals. They provide useful bonuses across farming, fishing, foraging, and daily life. Buffs activate immediately when you eat the meal and last for a set duration (typically several in-game hours). Eating another buff meal while one is active replaces the current buff.
While active, harvesting crops has a chance to drop regular or rare Everlasting Seeds. Everlasting Seeds can be replanted indefinitely without repurchasing — they are one of the best long-term investments for farmers. Eat a Creamy Seeds meal right before harvesting a large field to maximize drops.
Fish will no longer test the bait. Every bite becomes a guaranteed catch — no more missed fish. This is the single best buff for fishing sessions, especially when targeting rare species in difficult conditions. Pair with the right bait type for maximum efficiency.
The same amount of water irrigates more tiles. This saves stamina and time on large farms. Most useful before you unlock sprinklers at Intermediate Farmer tier. Even after sprinklers, Watering Mastery helps in areas not yet covered by automated irrigation.
Fishing yields extra treasure chests alongside your catch. The chests contain random items including coins, crafting materials, and rare collectibles. Stacks well with the Never Skunked buff if you eat a meal that provides both, though most buff meals only grant one effect at a time.
Guarantees a reward every time you search a trash can. Normally, trash cans have a random chance of yielding nothing. With Scavenger active, every search produces an item. The items are generally minor (small amounts of coins, basic materials), but over a full day of searching, it adds up.
Your active pet will come to you instead of wandering around independently. Useful when you need your pet nearby for a specific purpose or just want the companionship without chasing them across the island.
Buff meals are crafted using the cooking system. Recipes that grant buffs are purchased from:
Auraleaf Kitchen — the primary recipe shop, run by Aurelis (open 8AM-10PM)
Exploration Club — some recipes tied to exploration ingredients
Various other shops and quest rewards
For farming: Eat a Creamy Seeds meal before harvesting. The Everlasting Seeds you collect will pay for themselves many times over.
For fishing: Never Skunked is the top priority. Guaranteed catches mean no wasted time or bait.
For early game: Watering Mastery saves significant stamina before sprinklers are available.
For treasure hunting: Combine an Underwater Treasure meal with a fishing trip near Celestewave or Luminwave for maximum loot.
