Bus Stop Reconstruction
After completing the Building Starsand Station quest, players unlock the ability to repair 10 bus stops scattered across Starsand Island. Each bus stop must be individually rebuilt by donating construction materials at the repair site. Once at least two bus stops are operational, players can fast travel between them for a small Coins fee. Repaired bus stops appear as train icons on the map and serve as the primary mid-game transportation network before Teleporters become available in the endgame.

Prerequisites
Bus stop reconstruction does not become available until the player has completed a specific chain of tasks through the Island Life Quest Line:
Reach Island Pro rank in the Island Life Ranking system. This requires completing earlier milestones such as helping Marston build the Maritime Bureau.
Accept the Building Starsand Station quest from Solara. She can usually be found at or near the Community Center in the mornings.
Find Yang, the railway worker, near the station construction site on the beach. Speak with him to learn what the construction crew needs.
Cook 4 Soup Dumplings and deliver them to Yang. Soup Dumplings are crafted at a Campfire or Gas Stove using Meat Bites and Flour. You will need a Separator to process Wheat into Flour and raw meat (Beef, Fowl, Pork, or Mutton) into Meat Bites.
Deliver initial construction materials to Yang: 5 Stone Bricks, 5 Glass Panes, 5 Softwood Planks, and 5 Iron Sheets.
Once Yang receives everything, Starsand Station is built and the 10 bus stop repair sites become accessible across the island.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
After the Building Starsand Station quest is complete, each of the 10 bus stops can be repaired independently and in any order. Here is how to repair a bus stop:
Locate a bus stop. Open your map and look for the train icons marking unrepaired bus stops. Each icon corresponds to one of the 10 locations listed below.
Gather the required materials. Most bus stops need 10 Stone Bricks, 5 Glass Panes, 10 Softwood Planks, and 5 Iron Sheets. The Cloudrest Lake stop is the only exception, requiring 10 Bamboo Boards in place of Softwood Planks.
Travel to the bus stop site. Walk, ride the Skateboard, or use a mount to reach the construction marker.
Interact with the repair site. Approach the broken bus stop and press the interact button to open the donation interface. The interface displays every material still needed for that specific stop.
Donate all required materials. Transfer the materials from your inventory into the donation box. You can donate partial amounts and return later with the rest; progress is saved.
Wait one in-game day. Newly repaired bus stops do not activate immediately. Sleep through the night or continue other tasks, and the stop will be operational the following morning.
Repeat for remaining stops. After repairing at least two bus stops, fast travel becomes available between all completed stations. Continue repairing additional stops to expand your travel network.
All Bus Stop Locations
The 10 bus stops are spread across the island, covering every major region. The table below lists each stop, its surrounding area, and any notable details.
# | Location | Area | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | East Hopeland | Near the player's home lot | Closest stop to your farm; ideal first repair |
2 | Green Meadow area | Near Pastelle's ranch; useful for animal management | |
3 | Near the Exploration Club building | Close to Explorer profession facilities | |
4 | Cloudrest Lake area | Exception: requires Bamboo Boards instead of Softwood Planks | |
5 | East Starsand | Eastern part of Starsand Town | Convenient for shopping and quest turn-ins |
6 | Coastal cape area | Access to the coastal region and fishing spots | |
7 | Central hub | The main station built during the prerequisite quest | |
8 | Half-Moon Bay area | Near Delphin's shop; essential for fishing routes | |
9 | Beach and port area | Access to the port and the Merchant Ship | |
10 | North Starsand | Northern region of the island | Covers the far north; lower priority early on |
Materials Per Bus Stop
Standard Bus Stops (9 of 10)
Nine of the ten bus stops require the same set of construction materials. All of these items are processed at Crafting Stations from raw resources gathered around the island.
Material | Quantity | Crafting Station | Raw Resources |
|---|---|---|---|
Stone Brick | 10 | Furnace I | Stone + Charcoal |
Glass Pane | 5 | Cutter I | Glass Brick (from Quartzite at Furnace) |
Softwood Plank | 10 | Cutter I | Softwood (see Wood Types) |
Iron Sheet | 5 | Cutter II | Iron Ingot (from Iron Ore at Furnace) |
Cloudrest Lake (Exception)
The Cloudrest Lake bus stop uses Bamboo Boards instead of Softwood Planks. This is the only stop with a different material requirement. Bamboo can be harvested from bamboo groves found in the Cloudrest Lake area and processed at a Cutter I.
Material | Quantity | Crafting Station | Raw Resources |
|---|---|---|---|
Stone Brick | 10 | Furnace I | Stone + Charcoal |
Glass Pane | 5 | Cutter I | Glass Brick (from Quartzite at Furnace) |
Bamboo Board | 10 | Cutter I | Bamboo |
Iron Sheet | 5 | Cutter II | Iron Ingot (from Iron Ore at Furnace) |
Total Materials for All 10 Bus Stops
Building all 10 bus stops is a major material investment. The table below shows the total processed materials required along with the approximate raw resources needed to produce them.
Processed Material | Total Needed | Approximate Raw Resources |
|---|---|---|
Stone Brick | 100 | ~400 Stone + 100 Charcoal |
Glass Pane | 50 | 50 Glass Bricks (~200 Quartzite + 50 Charcoal) |
Softwood Plank | 90 | ~360 Softwood |
Bamboo Board | 10 | ~40 Bamboo |
Iron Sheet | 50 | 50 Iron Ingots (~200 Iron Ore + 50 Charcoal) |
Total Charcoal | ~200 | ~200 Softwood or other wood + 400 Fiber |
The single largest bottleneck is Charcoal, which is consumed by three different recipes: Stone Brick, Glass Brick, and Iron Ingot smelting. Plan your Charcoal Kiln production early.
Crafting Chain Breakdown
Understanding the full crafting chain helps with planning which Crafting Stations to build and upgrade first.
Stone Brick
Gather Stone from rocks found throughout the island.
Produce Charcoal in a Charcoal Kiln using Softwood or other wood plus Fiber.
Smelt Stone + Charcoal in Furnace I to produce Stone Bricks.
Glass Pane
Mine Quartzite from mineral deposits (check Ores and Resources for locations).
Smelt Quartzite + Charcoal in Furnace I to produce Glass Bricks.
Cut Glass Bricks in Cutter I to produce Glass Panes.
Softwood Plank
Chop Softwood trees (see Wood Types for identification).
Process Softwood in Cutter I to produce Softwood Planks.
Bamboo Board
Harvest Bamboo from bamboo groves near Cloudrest Lake.
Process Bamboo in Cutter I to produce Bamboo Boards.
Iron Sheet
Mine Iron Ore from cave deposits or surface nodes (see Ores and Resources).
Smelt Iron Ore + Charcoal in Furnace I to produce Iron Ingots.
Cut Iron Ingots in Cutter II to produce Iron Sheets. Note: this requires upgrading your Cutter to tier II.
Fast Travel Mechanics
Mechanic | Detail |
|---|---|
Physical presence required | You must stand at a bus stop to initiate fast travel. You cannot teleport from the map menu. |
At least 2 stops needed | Fast travel only becomes functional after repairing a minimum of two bus stops. |
Coin cost per trip | Each trip costs 15 Coins regardless of the distance between stations. |
Next-day activation | Newly repaired bus stops activate the following in-game day, not immediately. |
Destination selection | Interacting with any active bus stop shows a list of all other operational stops. Select a destination to travel instantly. |
Bus Stops vs. Teleporters
Starsand Island offers two fast travel systems. Bus stops are the mid-game option unlocked through the Island Life Quest Line, while Teleporters become available in the endgame. The table below compares them side by side.
Feature | Bus Stops | Teleporters |
|---|---|---|
Cost per trip | 15 Coins | Free |
Materials | Mid-game (Stone, Iron, Glass, Wood) | Endgame (Eternal Alloy x4, Perpetual Reactor x1, Spirit Cube III x1) |
Locations | Fixed 10 locations | Player-chosen placement |
Unlock timing | Mid-game (Island Pro rank) | Late/endgame |
Flexibility | Pre-set routes across the island | Place anywhere you want |
Related Achievements
Two Steam Achievements are tied directly to bus stop reconstruction:
Achievement | Description | Condition |
|---|---|---|
Get on Board Now! | "Toot toot! All aboard!" | Repair your first bus stop |
Road Master | "Go wherever you want, whenever you want" | Repair a total of 9 bus stops |
Note that Road Master requires only 9 repaired stops, not all 10. Completing the tenth stop is still recommended for full island coverage, but the achievement does not require it.
Recommended Repair Priority
Not all bus stops are equally useful. The following priority order focuses on maximizing travel convenience relative to where players spend most of their time.
East Hopeland is closest to your home and farm. This becomes your primary travel hub for daily routines.
Starsand Station sits at the central hub near Starsand Town, making it convenient for shopping, crafting supply runs, and quest turn-ins.
AquaBlue Outpost or Half-Moon Bay provides access to the port area, Delphin's shop, and the Merchant Ship. Essential for fishing and ocean-related activities.
Green Pasture Ranch is useful if you spend time managing ranch animals or visiting Pastelle.
Exploration Club provides quick access to Explorer profession quests and facilities.
Remaining stops (Cloudrest Lake, East Starsand, Crane Cape, North Starsand) can be repaired as needed based on your gameplay priorities.
Resource Gathering Strategy
Building all 10 bus stops requires a large stockpile of processed materials. Here is a practical strategy for gathering resources efficiently.
Phase 1: Set Up Your Production Line
Build at least 2 Charcoal Kilns. Charcoal is the biggest bottleneck since it fuels Stone Brick, Glass Brick, and Iron Ingot smelting. Two kilns running in parallel drastically reduces wait times.
Build 2 or 3 Cutters. You need large quantities of Softwood Planks, Glass Panes, and Iron Sheets. Multiple Cutters processing in parallel saves significant time.
Ensure you have at least 1 Furnace. A single Furnace can handle the smelting workload if you keep it fed consistently.
Phase 2: Stockpile Raw Resources
Harvest Softwood aggressively. You need roughly 360 Softwood for planks plus additional wood for Charcoal production (see Wood Types).
Mine Stone whenever you pass rocky outcrops. Aim for at least 400 Stone total.
Collect Iron Ore from cave deposits and surface nodes. You need approximately 200 Iron Ore for all 50 Iron Sheets.
Gather Quartzite from mineral deposits for Glass Bricks. You need roughly 200 Quartzite.
Collect Fiber from tall grass. You need around 400 Fiber for Charcoal Kiln fuel.
Phase 3: Batch Process
Set your Charcoal Kilns, Furnaces, and Cutters to process materials overnight while you handle quests and exploration during the day.
Process materials for 2 to 3 bus stops at a time rather than one at a time to reduce travel overhead.
Remember to harvest Bamboo from the groves near Cloudrest Lake before heading there to repair that specific stop.
Tips
Tip | Details |
|---|---|
Use the Skateboard in the meantime | Obtained from Zerine upon reaching Apprentice Crafter status, the Skateboard is free to use and helps with travel before bus stops are ready. |
Repair stops in pairs | Fast travel requires a minimum of two active stops, so always repair two at once to immediately enable travel between them. |
Carry spare materials | When heading to a distant bus stop for the first time, bring extra materials in case you discover another stop along the way. |
Stockpile materials passively | Set Cutters, Furnaces, and Charcoal Kilns to process materials overnight while you handle other tasks during the day. |
Delay distant stops | Remote bus stops like North Starsand and Crane Cape provide less value early on. Focus on the stops near your home and most-visited areas first. |
Partial donations are saved | If you run out of a material mid-donation, the bus stop tracks your progress. Return later with the remaining items to finish the repair. |
Plan around the Cutter II requirement | Iron Sheets require Cutter II, which is an upgrade from the base Cutter. Make sure you have unlocked this upgrade before attempting to mass-produce Iron Sheets. |
Consider mounts for early travel | While saving materials for bus stops, rent Mounts from Green Pasture Ranch for faster overland travel (15 to 30 Coins per hour). |
