Named both post-launch updates by their post names and added a short summary of Major Update #1
SpaceCraft is an online space exploration and building game developed and published by Shiro Games. Players journey through a vast universe of thousands of solar systems and planets, mine and craft resources, design and build their own ships, and trade with other players in a galaxy that evolves through player actions. The game launched in Early Access on June 11, 2026 for PC. Community Update #1 followed on September 16, 2026, and Major Update #1 on October 8, 2026.
SpaceCraft blends open-ended space exploration with deep building and a player-driven economy. You pilot a spaceship through systems filled with planets, asteroid fields, abandoned space stations, and derelict ships, scan and mine for raw materials, craft those materials into ship parts, and assemble custom vessels. You can play toward several fantasies at once: a lone explorer charting forgotten worlds, a wealthy trader working the marketplace, an industrial tycoon automating production, or the leader of a powerful Corporation. The game centers on shared online galaxies, but a separate Solo Offline Mode added after launch lets you play entirely on your own.

Pillar | Summary |
|---|---|
Pilot a ship in real time through thousands of star systems, moving seamlessly from deep space to planet surfaces and jumping across the galaxy with Faster-Than-Light technology. | |
Scan systems and planets, then use tools and your ship to extract raw materials from planets, asteroids, and abandoned structures. | |
Turn raw materials into valuable refined materials, components, and ship parts. | |
Assemble crafted parts into custom ships, from small nimble vessels to heavy transport cruisers, with every component affecting performance. | |
Buy ready-made ship designs from other players to build instantly, or sell your own perfected designs. | |
Buy and sell resources, ship parts, and blueprints in a marketplace where every transaction affects prices. | |
Create or join Corporations, assign roles, and collaborate from small crews to vast commercial empires. | |
Build and expand planetary bases, transforming outposts into fully automated resource hubs. | |
Use drones and cargo ships to automate mining, interplanetary logistics, and supply chains. |

SpaceCraft is built around a shared, persistent universe that, at the Early Access launch, spans 20 sectors, hundreds of star systems, and thousands of planets. From mining to crafting to trading, every action you take influences the world around you. The marketplace is fully player-driven, so supply and demand move prices as players buy and sell.

SpaceCraft is a PC title released through Steam. It entered Early Access on June 11, 2026, after an original target of May 20, 2026. For full details see Release Date and Platforms, Early Access, and System Requirements.
See Getting Started for a new-player walkthrough of the early game.
Major Update #1 on October 8, 2026 added 11 new Restricted Areas to explore, Traveling Merchants, Extractor Pods for mining away from your base, Trade Nexus Buy Orders, building customisation and level 6 unlocks across the Technology, Exploration and Science paths. Solo play was also reworked so that it simulates your offline time when you log back in. See Updates and Patch Notes for the full history.
SpaceCraft has a backstory the developer has shared: humanity, nearly wiped out in a struggle against an enemy called the Tripods, escaped through a mysterious portal to a distant part of the universe and must now rebuild and found a new home. The player begins as an ex-convict working for an organization called The Company, starting on one of its space stations with a single ship and no money. See Setting and Story for the full premise and Space Stations for the hubs where you refine and trade.
Advancement runs on two systems, a Permits tech tree and several Experience paths (Exploration, Technology, Science, and a planned Combat path). See Progression: Permits and Experience.
