Added the Lunar set's greatsword to its weapon classes, made the Foundation staff line exact and matched the Chronoterra spelling used elsewhere
11From Tier 3 upward, most of the gear you will care about belongs to one of four themed sets: Foundation, Lunar, Neotilus and Virelda. No bonus for wearing a complete set is documented anywhere, so a set is best read as a family of items that share a stat identity rather than as a collection you finish for a reward. Choosing a set is choosing what your character is good at.223-Each set spans Tier 3 to Tier 6 and holds twenty-four pieces, six per tier: a head, a chest, a feet and a necklace piece, plus two weapons. Which two weapon classes a set covers is the fastest way to understand it, because a set that has no staff cannot support a ranged build no matter how good its armour is.3+Each set spans Tier 3 to Tier 6 and holds twenty-four pieces, six per tier: a head, a chest, a feet and a necklace piece, plus two weapons. Foundation shares its name with The Foundation, Lunar with the Lunar Plateau, and Virelda with the desert hub at Virelda. Neotilus has no stated namesake, and in particular it is not named after the city, which is a separate matter covered below.9910-Read the table across and the design shows itself. Foundation is the support and durability set, the only one whose staves carry Shielding Power and Healing Power. Lunar is the ability and damage-over-time set, with Critical Strike Chance on none of its twenty-four pieces at all. Neotilus is pure physical melee: every damage-type stat in the set is Physical, and it carries no elemental damage, no Healing Power, no Shielding Power and no resistance stat anywhere. Virelda is the close-range crit set, and it spends on crit damage rather than crit frequency, with Critical Strike Damage appearing more than twice as often as Critical Strike Chance.10+Read the table across and the design shows itself. Neo-Tilus, with the hyphen, is the coastal city. They are genuinely different things that happen to share a root, and both spellings are correct in their own context. If you see one form where you expected the other, it is usually deliberate rather than a typo.15151616What a Set Actually Covers17171818Every set repeats the same six-piece loadout four times, once per tier, so the shape of a set is identical across all four families. None of them covers a belt, a ring or the back slot, which means a fully matched loadout is impossible by design: your belt and rings always come from outside the set. The slot-by-slot detail is on Armour and Accessories.19192020Every piece of every set is both craftable and dungeon-droppable. There are no craft-only and no drop-only set pieces. Weapons are forged at the Weapon Station, and armour and necklaces at the Gearforge, both covered on Crafting Stations. A crafted copy always carries exactly its base stats at base rarity. A dropped copy rolls a bonus package on top and can reach a higher rarity.21212222Equipping a set piece asks for combat skill levels that rise with tier, and the skills differ by slot within a single set. Foundation chest and feet pieces want Knowledge and Technology, its head pieces want Knowledge, Marksmanship and Strength, and its necklaces want Strength, Dexterity and Gearforging. Neotilus asks for Strength on every piece and adds Dexterity, Knowledge, Marksmanship or Technology depending on the slot. Those are combat skills rather than stats: see Classes and Abilities.23232424Legendary Effects by Set25252626A legendary effect only appears on a Legendary-rarity dungeon drop. Crafted copies never carry one, and neither does a lower-rarity drop. How widely a set is covered varies quite a lot, and the numbers below come from player-maintained documentation rather than from the studio, so treat them as the current best count rather than a fixed figure.27272828SetEffect CoverageFoundationTen different effects can roll on Foundation piecesNeotilusFifteen of its twenty-four pieces can roll an effect, covering twelve different effects between themVireldaEffects appear on fifteen of its twenty-four items, and none of its four necklaces carries oneLunarEight effects, concentrated on the weapons and the Conduit armour line2929Several effects appear on more than one set, so an effect is not an identity marker the way the stat lean is. Momentum Engine, which shortens your cooldowns after a heavy hit, rolls on both Neotilus hammers and a Virelda feet piece. Conductor, which boosts lightning power off hits, rolls on a Foundation sword, a Lunar chest piece and a Neotilus head piece. How triggers work in general is on Weapons.30303131Two Patch 3 and Patch 4 fixes touched set items directly. A large batch of legendary dungeon items was reworked for more consistent effects, including the Foundation Bulwark Chestguard, the Neotilus Trailseeker Coat, the Virelda Warcrest Helm and Greaves and the Lunar Conduit Crown. Patch 4 then stopped Celestial Greatswords displaying duplicate legendary effects and brought crafted Celestial Yoku Staffs into line with their dropped versions.32323333Chronosteel and the Setless Tiers34343535Not everything belongs to a set. Tier 1 and Tier 2 gear is generally setless, and the four themed sets only start at Tier 3, so early progression is a matter of taking whatever fits rather than committing to an identity.363637-Chronosteel sits at the boundary. It is a material-named family covering a greatsword, a sword, a hammer, a head piece, a torso piece and a feet piece, all in the same skill band, and it works as a transitional kit while you decide which of the four sets to chase. Chronosteel is also an ingot in its own right, smelted from ChronoTerra, which is why the name turns up on both the gear and the materials side of the game.37+Chronosteel sits at the boundary. If it comes from your weapon connecting, Neotilus and Virelda are the physical melee families, with Neotilus favouring big single hits through Heavy Hit Chance and Knockback and Virelda favouring crit damage. If it comes from your abilities, Lunar is built for it: Focus and Will raise area size, effect duration and cooldown uptime, and DoT Potency sits on more than half the set. If you are the one keeping a party alive, Foundation is the only set that puts Shielding Power and Healing Power on its staves and armour.42424343Nothing stops you mixing. With no documented completion bonus to chase, a Lunar chest paired with a Neotilus hammer is a perfectly ordinary loadout, and since rings and belts always come from outside the sets anyway, most real builds end up mixed. The stat vocabulary behind all of this is on Stats and Attributes, and the run-only layer that reshapes it is on Relics and Builds.44444545Set contents, stat leanings and effect coverage all describe the Early Access build and are being tuned as it develops.
