Updates and Patches
May 26, 2026 at 11:21 PM
Replaced generic hotfix description with the 0.25.1 + 0.25.1_1 change logs and major pre-launch patch summary
Romestead is in Early Access, which means it is actively being developed with player feedback. The developer has described an approach focused on listening to the community before committing to a long-term plan. Patch versions follow a major.minor.point_iteration scheme (for example, 0.25.1_1).
Both hotfixes shipped within twelve hours of the May 25 launch, addressing the most critical bugs reported by players.
Version | Date | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
0.25.1_1 | May 26, 2026 | More fixes to unenterable dungeons; falling through dungeon floors; Burning Fallen Horde no longer appears after first boss; icon updates; localization updates. |
0.25.1 | May 26, 2026 | Crash fix for Magus Ceres Scroll; unenterable dungeon fix; falling through dungeon floors; removed a stray arrow from one of the dungeons; soft-locking fix. |
The playtest builds in the final week before launch focused on polish and the Volcanic biome:

These playtest patches shaped the launch build:

0.20.1_14 (January 28, 2026) introduced the World Map 2.0 (N key), 50+ new points of interest, the Challenge Dungeon single-path layout, a Desert Mini-boss, Magic Resistance on all enemies, the University, and the Bronze Cart.
0.20.1_23 (February 2, 2026) added the Sagittarii crossbow class, Asian character text-field support, and experimental armor crafting that differentiates melee, ranged, and caster requirements.
Beartwigs is active in the game's community channels and monitors the official discussion board, which has categories for bugs, feedback, and suggestions. The team has credited community feedback for shaping many of the game's features, both during the demo and into Early Access.
