The Base is the player's persistent hideout in PUBG: Black Budget and the hub of the game's metagame. Between missions, Contractors return here to manage the loot they extracted, craft new equipment, and improve their character. The Base is customizable and expandable, growing more capable as the player invests in it.
Customization and Expansion
The Base can be expanded and upgraded over time, and players have flexibility in how they develop it. Rather than following a fixed layout, players can pick and choose which upgrades to pursue and where to place new stations and benches. This lets each Contractor tailor their hideout to their own priorities.
Facilities and Functions
Feature | Function |
|---|---|
Crafting Stations | Used to craft new equipment from gathered materials |
Stash Upgrades | Expand storage for extracted loot and gear |
Income Facilities | Provide a source of income to the player |
Research Station | Serves as a narrative and progression hub |
The research station ties directly into the story, acting as both a narrative beat and a progression hub where extracted findings are studied. This connects the hideout to the mysteries explored in Story and Setting.
Role in the Loop
Because PUBG: Black Budget uses a persistent inventory, the items a Contractor carries out of a run via Extraction become the raw material for Base growth. Crafted gear and upgrades then improve the player's chances on the next deployment, creating a loop between runs on Coli Island and investment back at the hideout. The wider growth systems are covered in Progression and Customization.
