Tyrunt is a Rock/Dragon-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Royal Heir Pokemon (Dex #276). This is an ancient Pokemon, revived in modern times. It has a violent disposition, and it will tear apart anything it gets between its hefty jaws. Tyrunt is one of several fossil Pokemon in Pokopia, obtained through the fossil display habitat system. It carries the Crush specialty, which allows it to break down hard objects and rocks into usable materials.
Tyrunt can be found at one habitat.
A display of an ancient Pokemon fossil. It features a piece of a jawbone that could crush anything.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Pedestal | 1 | Exhibition stand for the fossil |
Jaw Fossil | 1 | Obtained through fossil digging or trading |
Tyrunt is a Common visitor at the Jaw Fossil Display. This is a single-Pokemon habitat, meaning Tyrunt is the only Pokemon that visits. The habitat requires just two items, making it straightforward to construct once you have the Jaw Fossil.
Build the Jaw Fossil Display by placing a Pedestal and a Jaw Fossil near each other. You can obtain fossils through the fossil digging system or by trading with other players. Once the habitat is set up, Tyrunt will appear as a Common visitor. Walk up and interact with it to befriend it.
Tyrunt has the Crush specialty. Pokemon with the Crush specialty can break rocks, ores, and other hard objects into smaller pieces and usable materials. Hand rocks or ore to Tyrunt and it will crush them down. This is useful for processing raw materials into crafting components, particularly stone-based resources.

"This is an ancient Pokemon, revived in modern times. It has a violent disposition, and it will tear apart anything it gets between its hefty jaws."
Tyrunt shares similar habitat preferences with several other Rock-type and fossil Pokemon, including Tyrantrum, Rampardos, Bastiodon, Cranidos, Shieldon, Onix, Sudowoodo, Steelix, Marowak, and Bonsly. These Pokemon all enjoy stone-themed and hard-material items, making them compatible roommates if you want to group them in the same area of your island.
In the main Pokemon series, Tyrunt evolves into Tyrantrum at level 39 (during the day). In Pokopia, there is no evolution mechanic, so each must be found at its own fossil display habitat independently. Tyrantrum gains the additional Litter specialty on top of the Crush specialty that Tyrunt already has.
The Jaw Fossil Display is one of the simpler fossil habitats, requiring only a Pedestal and a single Jaw Fossil. More complex fossil displays like the Despot Fossil Display for Tyrantrum require multiple fossil pieces.
Tyrunt's Crush specialty is shared with many other fossil Pokemon. If you already have a Crush-specialty partner, Tyrunt is still worth befriending for collection purposes.
Since Tyrunt prefers dry environments, place its habitat away from water sources and humid areas. A sandy or rocky section of your island works well.
Pair Tyrunt with its evolution Tyrantrum near each other for a fossil-themed display area. Both share the same preference for stone and hard items.
