Iron Ore

Iron Ore is the most demanded mid-game ore in Starsand Island. It is mined in Dreamfall Garden and the deeper sections of the Moonlit Forest, smelted into Iron Ingot at Furnace II, and rolled into Iron Sheet at Cutter II. Iron drives nearly every Junior and Intermediate Crafter recipe.

Major Uses

• Worktable II upgrade. Uses Iron Sheet, which traces back to Iron Ore.

• Impact Hammer and Impact Axe. The Junior tool upgrades require Iron-derived components.

• Bus stop construction. All 10 bus stops require Iron Sheet.

• Bag expansion. Multiple bag expansion tiers consume Iron Sheet.

• Alloy production. Iron Ingot is one of three components for Alloy, the late-game metal.

• Solid-State Battery. Uses 1 Iron Sheet alongside Tin Ingots and Radiant Crystal.

• Dozens of mid-game recipes. Numerous machines, station builds, and tool upgrades list Iron Sheet or Iron Ingot in their requirements.

Where to Mine

• Dreamfall Garden. First reliable Iron farming location. Veins are dense throughout this zone.

• Crystalith Hideout and beyond. Iron continues to spawn in deeper zones alongside higher-tier ores like Gold and Primorite.

• Surface deposits. Some Iron Ore deposits also appear in rocky areas on the surface island, though these are less common than Moonlit Forest veins.

Tips

• Mine aggressively at Dreamfall Garden. Iron Sheet demand is enormous. Plan multi-trip Iron runs as soon as you reach Dreamfall Garden.

• Process in parallel. Run multiple Furnace II and Cutter II stations to keep ingot and sheet production flowing.

• Don't sell raw ore. Iron Ingot and Iron Sheet sell for more than raw ore, and you almost always need them later.

• Plan for 100+ Iron Sheet. Bag expansion plus bus stops plus Worktable II plus tool upgrades easily exceeds 100 Iron Sheet over the mid-game.
