There are 4 Ice-type Pokemon found across the Habitat Dex in Pokopia. Ice-type Pokemon are among the rarest types in the game, with only four confirmed species. Two of them (Amaura and Aurorus) are fossil Pokemon that require assembling fossil parts, while Lapras is befriended through a story quest and Glaceon requires completing a special challenge in Palette Town.
Of the 4 Ice-type Pokemon, 3 have a secondary type. Pokemon with dual types appear on multiple type pages. Ice-type Pokemon in Pokopia specialize in Water, Trade, Crush, and Litter specialties, making them useful for watering plants, exchanging items at cash registers, processing materials, and collecting dropped items.
Pokemon | Type(s) | Habitat | Dex # | Region | Rarity | Specialty |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Chilly Shaved Ice | #287 | Common | Trade |
Each Ice-type Pokemon contributes different specialties to help around your island:
Specialty | Pokemon | Effect |
|---|---|---|
Water | Sprays water on nearby fields and plants when full. Lapras also teaches Ditto the Surf ability. | |
Crush | Processes suitable materials into other items, such as grinding stone into usable building materials. | |
Litter | Sometimes drops useful items near its home, providing passive material collection. | |
Trade | Exchanges items with you at a cash register, letting you swap materials and items. |
Lapras (Dex #106) is a Water/Ice Transport Pokemon found in Bleak Beach. You befriend Lapras through the "Swimming Time" request from Piplup. Professor Tangrowth directs you to find Lapras so it can teach Ditto the Surf ability, which lets you swim in water and reach previously inaccessible areas. You must clean 80 mud tiles before Lapras will teach you.
To build Lapras's Tropical Seaside habitat, you need: Hedge (any) x4, Large Palm Tree x1, and Ocean Water x2. Lapras prefers humid environments and enjoys lots of water, ocean vibes, and sour flavors. It appears at all times of day in sunny, cloudy, or rainy weather.
Amaura (Dex #278) is a Rock/Ice Tundra Pokemon obtained through the Sail Fossil Display habitat. This habitat requires an Exhibition Stand x1 and a Sail Fossil x1. Sail Fossils are found by using Rock Smash on Glowing Rocks, with an increased chance from Glowing Rocks in Bleak Beach. You can also use the Dowsing Machine or Magnet Rise to locate hidden Glowing Rocks.
Amaura has the Crush specialty, which processes suitable materials into other items. It prefers cool environments and likes stone stuff, hard materials, shiny objects, and dry flavors. Amaura can be placed in any area and appears at all times of day.
Aurorus (Dex #279) is a Rock/Ice Tundra Pokemon obtained through the Tundra Fossil Display habitat. This habitat requires an Exhibition Stand x1 plus three separate fossil parts: Tundra Fossil (Head), Tundra Fossil (Body), and Tundra Fossil (Tail). All three parts are obtained from Glowing Rocks using Rock Smash, with increased rates at Bleak Beach.
Aurorus has both the Crush and Litter specialties. The Crush specialty lets it process materials, while Litter means it sometimes drops useful items near its home. Like Amaura, Aurorus prefers cool environments and enjoys stone, hard, shiny, and noisy stuff along with sour flavors.
Glaceon (Dex #287) is a pure Ice-type Fresh Snow Pokemon found in Palette Town. To befriend Glaceon, you must first complete the "Make it easier to get around!" challenge from Eevee, which requires creating five lift platforms that connect together. Completing this challenge rewards you with the Shaved Ice item needed for Glaceon's habitat.
The Chilly Shaved Ice habitat requires: Shaved Ice x1, Seat (any) x1, and Table (any) x1. Glaceon has the Trade specialty and prefers cool environments. It likes lots of water, shiny stuff, cute stuff, glass stuff, group activities, and sweet flavors.

Ice-type Pokemon are the rarest type in Pokopia with only 4 species. Do not expect to find them in the wild without building specific habitats.
Two of the four Ice-types (Amaura and Aurorus) are fossil Pokemon. Stock up on Rock Smash uses and visit Bleak Beach for the best fossil drop rates from Glowing Rocks.
Lapras is tied to a story quest. Progress through the Bleak Beach storyline and complete the "Swimming Time" request from Piplup to encounter it.
Glaceon requires completing a challenge in Palette Town, which is one of the later areas to unlock. Build five lift platforms to earn the Shaved Ice item.
Use the Dowsing Machine with a Pokemon that has the Search specialty to find hidden Glowing Rocks containing fossil parts.
Check the Habitat Dex for complete details on every habitat, including construction materials and full Pokemon lists.
