Overview

Honchkrow is a Dark/Flying-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Big Boss Pokemon (Dex #168). A single cry from this nocturnal Pokemon, and more than 100 of its Murkrow cronies will assemble. Honchkrow is the evolved form of Murkrow in the main series. It carries both the Fly and Trade specialties, the same combination as Murkrow. Honchkrow is a Rare visitor, making it harder to find than its Common pre-evolution.

Habitat

Honchkrow is found at the Chirping Recital habitat (#125). Bird Pokemon may swoop in and use the microphone to show off their singing skills.

Honchkrow is a Rare visitor at this habitat. It appears during the Night time period in all weather conditions (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy). Chatot also visits this habitat as a Common visitor during all times of day. Because Honchkrow is both Rare and nocturnal, patience is required when waiting for it to appear.

How to Befriend

Build the Chirping Recital habitat by placing a Perch and a Standing Mic near each other. This is a relatively simple habitat to construct, requiring only two items. Since Honchkrow only appears at Night and is a Rare visitor, check back at the habitat during nighttime repeatedly. While waiting for Honchkrow, you can befriend Chatot, which appears as a Common visitor.

Specialties

Fly

Honchkrow has the Fly specialty, shared with its pre-evolution Murkrow. Pokemon with the Fly specialty can transport you to other Pokemon locations via the Pokedex, serving as a fast-travel companion. If you already have Murkrow handling Fly duties, Honchkrow provides a second option.

Trade

Honchkrow also has the Trade specialty. Pokemon with the Trade specialty can exchange items with the player at a cash register. Place a cash register near its habitat area and Honchkrow will occasionally staff it, offering item trades. This is fitting for a Pokemon nicknamed the Big Boss, as it commands others to do its bidding in the main series.

Preferences

Honchkrow prefers dark environments and bitter-flavored food, similar to Murkrow. However, its specific likes differ: Honchkrow is drawn to spooky stuff, letters and words, and glass items, while Murkrow prefers group activities, luxury, and fabric. Place dark-themed, spooky, and shiny decorations near the Chirping Recital habitat to raise Honchkrow's Comfort Level.

Related Pokemon

Honchkrow is the evolved form of Murkrow (Dex #167). In the main Pokemon series, Murkrow evolves into Honchkrow when exposed to a Dusk Stone. In Pokopia, both share the Fly and Trade specialties. Murkrow is a Common visitor at two habitats (Elevated Red Tall Grass and Tree-shaded Graceful Flower Bed), while Honchkrow is a Rare visitor at the Chirping Recital. Both are nocturnal and only appear at Night. This reflects their Dark typing.

Tips

• Honchkrow only appears at Night and is a Rare visitor, so be prepared for multiple nighttime trips to the Chirping Recital habitat before it shows up.

• The Chirping Recital habitat is small (only Perch and Standing Mic), so it is easy to set up. Build it early and check back during nighttime regularly.

• If you need Fly and Trade specialties immediately, befriend Murkrow first since it is a Common visitor. Honchkrow shares the same specialties but is much harder to find.

• Honchkrow's spooky stuff and letters/words preferences set it apart from Murkrow. Decorating with ghost-themed and literary items specifically boosts Honchkrow's Comfort Level without necessarily helping Murkrow.
