Explode Specialty

Added more detail on cannon usage and alternative ammo (2026-04-18)
The Explode specialty allows Pokemon to be loaded into cannons and fired to destroy a large area of blocks and terrain on impact. This is useful for clearing terrain quickly without manually using Rock Smash or Rollout.

Place the Cannon in your settlement, aimed at the area you want to clear.
Bring an Explode Pokemon to the cannon. It will hop inside.
Fire the cannon. The Pokemon launches and destroys blocks on impact.
The cannon fires in a fixed direction and angle. You cannot adjust the tilt.
To control the range, position the cannon closer to or farther from the target, or elevate it using blocks underneath.
No Pokemon with the Burn specialty is needed to light the cannon.
Fireworks can also be used as cannon ammunition if you do not have an Explode Pokemon.
Voltorb and Electrode can be found in Park Bench or Playing Pirate habitats.
Only two Pokemon have the Explode specialty:

Cannons are placeable furniture that fire Explode Pokemon (or Fireworks as alternative ammunition) to destroy blocks and terrain on impact. The cannon fires in a fixed direction relative to its placement, so positioning is key.
Cannons cannot be tilted up or down. Aim by placing the cannon at the elevation that produces the correct arc.
Building a one-block or two-block platform under the cannon raises its launch angle.
Any Explode Pokemon nearby will hop inside automatically when you interact with the cannon. You do not need to lead them in manually.
Firing consumes zero PP, unlike Ditto moves.
No Burn specialty Pokemon is needed to ignite the cannon. It fires automatically when an Explode Pokemon is loaded.
If Voltorb or Electrode are not available, cannons also accept Fireworks as ammunition. Fireworks destroy a smaller area than Explode Pokemon and are consumable (one-time use), but they can be crafted in larger quantities. For bulk terrain clearing on a Cloud Island, Fireworks are often more practical than waiting on a single Voltorb to recharge.
Rapidly clearing large sections of terrain for major building projects, especially in Cloud Islands where terraforming is creative and unlimited
Destroying hard-to-reach blocks that Ditto's Rock Smash cannot efficiently break through
Entertainment: the explosion animation is spectacular and can be used decoratively at events
Complementary to Rollout, which clears a linear path versus Explode's radial blast
