The Expansion Pass is a three-part paid DLC for Pokemon Pokopia, announced during the June 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct and released for purchase on the Nintendo eShop the same day. It costs $34.99 (29.99 GBP / 34.99 EUR) and covers all three content parts as they release through 2027; the parts are not sold individually. Every part works with your existing save file, so nothing needs to be restarted. Part 1, Bubbly Basin, released on August 5, 2026.

Part | Content | Release |
|---|---|---|
Part 1: Bubbly Basin | An underwater town with its own 50-entry Basin Pokedex, watermelon crops, buoyant blocks, bubble machines, smoothies, ocean floor-themed furniture, new outfits, and an additional Dream Island | Released August 5, 2026 |
Part 2 | Accessories to wear with your Pokemon friends, additional Pokemon, and new furniture. No new town is added in Part 2 | Late 2026 |
Part 3 | Another new town to explore and rebuild, plus additional Pokemon and furniture | 2027 |
Bubbly Basin asks for more than the purchase itself. To enter the new town you must first complete the request Raise the environment level! in Bleak Beach and learn the move Dive, which arrived for every player in the free Version 2.0.0 update on August 5, 2026. See Version History and Updates for the update schedule.
Bonus | Details | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
Dynamic Ditto Print recipe | A pattern recipe for blocks and wallpaper, claimable right away. Requires Version 1.1.0. Claim it from the + Menu under Downloadable Content, then Check Items, then Receive. | None listed |
30 Rare Pokemetal ingots | Buyers receive a serial code by email. Redeem it through Mystery Gifts. An internet connection and a linked Nintendo Account are required. | Purchase by August 31, 2027; the code expires September 30, 2027 |
The Expansion Pass is optional. The underwater gameplay itself comes from the free Version 2.0.0 update, which added Dive on August 5, 2026 and lets every player plant grass, build structures, and create underwater towns alongside Pokemon at no cost. The pass adds the Bubbly Basin town on top of that, plus the later parts in late 2026 and 2027.
The Mythical Pokemon Manaphy arrived with the free update: it teaches Ditto the move Dive once you complete the Bleak Beach request, know Surf, and can jump. Manaphy and Phione also appear in the Basin Pokedex for Expansion Pass owners.
Players who do not already own Pokemon Pokopia can buy a digital Pokemon Pokopia + Expansion Pass bundle on the Nintendo eShop, available since June 24, 2026, which includes the base game and the pass together. The Switch 2 hardware bundle sold separately does not include the Expansion Pass.
Buy before August 31, 2027 if you want the 30 Rare Pokemetal ingots; the emailed code stops working on September 30, 2027.
Update to Version 1.1.0 or later first: the pass purchase option and the print recipe both require it, and the update is also needed for online play.
Work on the Bleak Beach environment level request early so Dive and Bubbly Basin open up as soon as possible.
