Updated Final Beta features and dated test details
Farming is one of the core daily activities in Petit Planet. Players grow crops on their planet's farmland, tending plants from seed to harvest. Yunguo, the cultivator Neighbor, is the player's guide for agricultural activities. Harvested crops generate Luca, can be used in cooking recipes, sold for Dough at Glenn's shop, or gifted to Neighbors.
Players clear a plot of land, till the soil, plant seeds, water the crops, and wait for them to grow. Different crops have different growth times. Watering crops regularly speeds up growth, while neglected plants grow slower or may wilt.
Petit Planet uses a real-time clock synchronized with HoYoverse servers. This means the game does not have traditional seasonal crop rotations like Stardew Valley or similar farming games. Crops grow based on real-world time passage rather than in-game seasonal cycles. This system also prevents players from manipulating their device clock to speed up growth.
One of the distinctive features of farming in Petit Planet is that Neighbors assist with farm work. Neighbors help tend crops, and in many cases they handle most of the upkeep on their own, reducing the manual labor the player needs to perform. This frees players to spend time on other activities while their farm continues to produce.
Farming actions consume Strength, the game's energy system. Tilling, watering, and harvesting each cost a small amount of the player's Strength pool. Strength is restored by eating food. Managing Strength across farming, fishing, mining, and other activities is an important part of the daily routine.
Seeds can be purchased from Glenn's shop or found through exploration during Starsea Voyages. Some seeds may also come from Neighbor progression trees and friendship rewards.
Harvested crops can be offered to the Luca Arbour as part of the Luca system. Higher-quality and rarer crops produce more Luca. Farming consistently is one of the most reliable ways to accumulate Luca and advance the planet's development.
The Final Beta gives flowers more genetic variety. Careful crossbreeding can produce rare flowers, and flowers can also be made into dyes for the player's hair. The September 21 feature overview does not publish a breeding chart or the probabilities of particular colors.
Wider weather conditions unlock at Luca Arbor Level 9. The day after a heavy snowfall, exploring the planet and shaking trees can reveal finds and natural treasures unique to snowy days. This does not establish a seasonal crop-rotation calendar.
