Overview
Petit Planet (Chinese: 星布谷地, Xīngbù Gǔdì; Japanese: プチプラネット) is a cosmic life simulation game developed by miHoYo Co., Ltd. and published outside China by HoYoverse (Cognosphere Pte., Ltd.). It is HoYoverse's first entry into the life simulation genre, a departure from the studio's earlier action RPG releases. The game was originally known under the trademark "Astaweave Haven," which was abandoned before the official reveal.

Players take on the role of a newcomer employed by Loomi Corp, a galactic organization that manages planets. The core gameplay loop involves growing your own planet by collecting a resource called Luca, befriending anthropomorphic animal characters called Neighbors, and exploring a wider universe of galaxies.
Announcement and Development
Petit Planet was announced on September 25, 2025. The game represents miHoYo's effort to reach a wider audience beyond its action RPG catalog. The game's Chinese publishing license was approved on July 22, 2024, well ahead of the public reveal. A release window of Winter 2026 was announced on August 26, 2026.
Beta Tests
The first Closed Beta, called the "Coziness Test," ran from November 7 to December 1, 2025, on PC and iOS only. Console platforms (Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox) have not been confirmed. A separate long-term playtest called the Staycation Program is ongoing as a small-scale, closed, and confidential testing effort.
A second closed beta, the Stardrift Test, ran from April 21 to May 25, 2026, and was the first build playable on all three announced platforms. It added the Galactic Bazaar social hub, a playable Starsea Voyage system, and the Archiboos resource. All progress was wiped when it closed. A third and final closed beta, the Final Beta Test, was announced on August 26, 2026 and begins on September 20, 2026.
Platforms and Business Model
Petit Planet is announced for PC, iOS, and Android with full cross-platform support. No price has been announced. The game is widely assumed to be free-to-play, in line with the publisher's other releases, but no official statement has confirmed it. During the beta period there was no gacha system; the final monetization model has not been confirmed. The game features two AI chatbots: one for player assistance and one that acts as a barista NPC. The official site lists the PC build as Windows only, alongside iOS and Android mobile builds. On PC the game is distributed both as a direct client download and through the Epic Games Store.
Setting
Petit Planet takes place across multiple galaxies, each home to different Neighbors and cultures. Players begin on their own small planet and gradually expand it by nurturing the Luca Arbour. The game has no combat. Instead, progression comes through farming, fishing, crafting, socializing, and exploration.
Core Gameplay
The game's central resource is Luca, the life energy of a planet. Players earn Luca through daily activities and offer it to the Luca Arbour to unlock new areas and customization options. The game uses a real-time clock synchronized with HoYoverse servers, which prevents time manipulation.

Pre-Registration
Pre-registration is open on the game's official site and is separate from beta sign-ups. Players who pre-register, including anyone who registered in an earlier round, can claim a Bestie Star-Light once the game officially releases. Pre-registration is also open on the Apple App Store, Google Play, and the Epic Games Store. Rewards are claimed by logging in once the game launches in Winter 2026.
Official Channels
The game maintains its own accounts rather than sharing the publisher's. Official channels span X, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitch, Pinterest, Discord, a dedicated subreddit, and the publisher's community app, and the official site links to all of them. Announcements land on the community app and the official site's notice board first, then propagate to the social accounts.
Public Showings
The game makes its international exhibition debut at Gamescom 2026 from August 26 to 30, 2026, with a hands-on PC demo. That showing is the first time the public can play the game outside a closed beta. The Winter 2026 release window was revealed during the show's Opening Night Live broadcast.
Final Beta Test
Sign-ups for the Final Beta Test, the game's third and last closed beta, opened on August 26, 2026 and close on September 14, 2026. The test itself begins on September 20, 2026 and runs on PC (Windows only), iOS, and Android, with progress carried between PC and mobile on a single account. The test client ships in 15 languages, and emulators are not supported.
The global build of the test is limited-access and data-wipe with no in-game purchases. The mainland Chinese edition runs on the same dates under a different name and as a billed test instead, so the no-purchases condition applies to the global test rather than to the September 20 test as a whole.
Players who reached Level 3 on the Luca Arbour in the Coziness Test or the Stardrift Test may be granted access, but still have to submit the sign-up survey.
