Added male and female High Elf character art
High Elves call themselves the Cilindrine. They are one of three designed races that are not in the Early Access launch set, alongside the Deep Dwarf and the Troll.
This race is not playable when Early Access opens on 1 October 2026. It is a fully designed race with its own lore entry and its own class list, but it is outside the launch set. The official material says only that Early Access carries a subset of the races planned for the 1.0 version. As of September 2026 no release window, patch number or ordering has been published for the three races held back, and none of the official wording promises one.
High elves get more physical description than any other race in the official material. They are tall, beautiful and almost otherworldly, with powerful physiques, an innate grasp of magic, and a calm, calculated demeanour. The lore then makes the point that they cultivate the sense of superiority all of that produces, rather than merely carrying it.

They are the longest lived of the civilized races, which the material ties directly to how they act: their plans can take centuries to unfold, and patience of that kind changes what counts as a reasonable move.
Purity is the recurring theme in the high elf entry. They consider themselves the only uncorrupted remnants of the Calafrey Conglomerate, an elven empire that once spanned much of the western seaboard of Aêthoril. The empire's collapse is one of the setting's named catastrophes, and the wars that followed it nearly eradicated the deep elves.
They follow strict religious doctrines, are notoriously insular, and are named as one of the least welcoming of the civilized races. The doctrines are real in the lore but unnamed: as of September 2026 no pantheon, deity or faith roster has been published for any race in Monsters & Memories.
A growing faction inside high elf society pushes for greater diplomacy and collaboration with the other races. The official text notes that this infighting has begun to manifest as more than just raucous debate, which is as far as it goes. What that escalation looks like is not described.
Two of the setting's other races define themselves partly against this one, and both grievances name the Cilindrine directly.
Who | What the lore records |
|---|---|
Wood Elves, the Faelewyn | Denied shelter from the great cataclysm by the Cilindrine. They survived only because the Fae of the Branch interceded, and the price of that bargain changed them permanently. |
Deep Elves, the Ail'trist | Driven from their city by the Cilindrine. They later reclaimed its ruins, which are now Ail'vorith, the capital of the underworld. |
The western seaboard of the continent, historically held by the Calafrey Conglomerate. The region of Calafrey is one of the three areas carrying Early Access content and is described under Zones, although the high elves themselves are not playable there at launch. Because the race is outside the launch set, no starting city applies to it. See Starting Cities.
Eight classes are listed for the high elf. Seven of them are casters, divine classes or hybrids, and the Archer is the only purely martial option. There is no beast class and no wilderness class on the list, and no unarmoured melee class either.
Class | Archetype | Group role |
|---|---|---|
High-Mobility Marksman Tinkerer | Ranged damage | |
Divine Conduit | Healer, support | |
Elemental Binder | Magic damage, pet | |
Masterful Conductor | Crowd control, support, utility | |
Anti-Magic Tyrant | Tank, crowd control | |
Warrior of Faith | Tank, healer | |
Highly-Mobile Magic Swordsman | Melee damage | |
Arcane Artillery | Magic damage |
As of September 2026, no racial stat block, attribute modifier, resistance value or racial ability list has been published for any race in Monsters & Memories. The official race material is lore plus a class list.
