Jean Grey is a powerful telekinetic and one of Logan's allies in Marvel's Wolverine. She is a new ally rather than a returning teammate, and nothing in official material places her inside Team X.

Her situation

The X-Men do not exist in this setting. Mutants live hidden from a society that mostly does not know they are there, and Jean has no organisation behind her. She is protecting a group of captured mutant teenagers on her own, and she has emerged as their leader by default rather than by appointment. That is a large part of why she and Logan end up fighting the same enemy: Bolivar Trask is abducting mutants, and the people she is protecting are exactly who he is hunting. See Story and Setting.

In combat

Her powers are part of the moment-to-moment game rather than something reserved for cutscenes. She fights alongside Logan on the missions she appears in, and the two can perform takedowns together.

The blinding assist is one of the clearest published examples of an ally ability opening an option Logan does not have alone: it turns an open fight into a Stealth opportunity mid-encounter. Allies in general are directed rather than played. The game is not co-op and there is no character switching. See Combat.

What has not been confirmed

As of September 13, 2026, checked against the PlayStation product page and its FAQ, the studio's own posts and every released trailer description, no Phoenix material, no X-Men affiliation and no romance beat has been stated for this version of the character. Anything along those lines comes from the comics rather than from this game, and this wiki does not carry it.
